I CHALLENGE YOU TO FIND 25 THINGS MADE IN THE USA IN SIDE THE WALLS OF WAL-MART
I was a cart pusher at Wal Mart store in Ozark, Missouri.
they ranted and raved how good of a worker i was and i was promised a promotion.
wouldn't you know they moved another cart pusher inside that goofed off all the time and didn t half do shit.
i got an exceeds expectations evaluation , and i made the safety team and full time status in my first 90 days.
they started being slack with getting help with the carts and there were times i would cover both sides by myself for up to 6 hrs.
keep in mind, you have to take your hr. lunch so when i'd come back out...
the parking lot looked like shit.
hey let other cart pushers get away with shit all the time ,
i worked my ass off and they re gonna approach me about smoking in the breakroom
12 minutes before i was going to punch out...
i didn t get to finish my last break.
then another time a manager tried to say i came back from break late...
i went at 12 minutes after 2 pm and was comming out of the break room and had to talk to a manager .
i got outside at 2:28.
they re full of shit...i was one of the best workers they had
till i walked out!
Poor Sam Walton,
when they first came out with those scanners, I thought he maybe the anti Christ.
Was it Bill and Al that made trade with China possible?
China is in sevearl countries preparing for world domaination.
China is investing in Canada, Austrailia, Panama, and other little countries investing in their oil or just getting a foothold
for the next Korea or Vietnam.
I've always tried to be loyal to my country and buy American.
That RCA dog should be replaced with a photo of Chairman Mao.
Now I'm just argueing with Yankees in Dixie.
I worked for wal mart for many years as a cart pusher the CSMS suck,
had to always push the carts by hand because we went two years without a cart machine
(after i quit)
WAL MART IS COMMUNIST
I worked for Walmart for many years. I always loved my job.
I was hurt on the job 5 years ago, took out of the store by ambulance,
do you know it took 3 months before they would make me an apointment to see their doctor.
Two years after that before surgery. The only work I missed was for surgery.
I went to work bearly able to stand up.
Management knew it said I was a trooper.
They knew I needed to work.
(in the beginning I was told they wanted to be 30 days accident free so wait before filling out a report)
Two years later I had to have 2 more surgeries, to fix what their surgeon didn't.
I could've become paralised. My doctor put me on light duty, so I had to take leave of absent.
After a year I was still on light duty Walmart would NOT let me come back,
I Had to exit Walmart.
Not one time did any management call to see if I was livig or dead.
THAT WAS AT A WAL MART STORE

I COULD CARE LESS. AS LONG AS ITEMS ARE ON THE SHELF I WILL CONTINUE TO CONSUME AND CONSUME. THE CHEAPER IT IS, THE MORE I BUY AND CONSUME. I WELCOME CHINA'S PRODUCTS WITH OPEN ARMS AND NO PORT CHECK.

I'm really curious about what they pay...how much did you get an hr at WalMart...and did you have any benefits like insurance, vacation etc?

I feel you, man. I only started working at Wal-Mart because it was the only place that would hire me, and they stuck me on cart-pushing duty. Everyday I'm treating like some meth-smoking dropout, despite the fact that I'm on Dean's List at college and just working to pay off loans. They always flaunt how they hire so many people, but it's a constant skeleton crew at all shifts, with one guy covering the whole cart-pushing duty, two if you're lucky. Meanwhile I go inside for lunch everyday and see 6 sales associates crowded around a register doing nothing. Electronics plays the same CD over and over, the X-Box 360 and PS2 are on without CDs or Demos loaded, and the Greeters sit around and gossip.
Lowest pay in the store for the hardest work.
90 degrees with 87% humidity, lugging 30 carts at a time because the automatic pusher is always broken.

I'm a Cartpusher too not for Walmart mind you...But 30 carts? According to the Cartpusher's Manual its supposed to be no more than 10 at a time. Carts supposedly weigh no more than 74 lbs per cart that's 740 pounds at 10 and 2220 pounds at 30. Why do you push 2220 pounds of carts at a time? Take it easy on yourself try no more than 740 pounds.
As for the guy who walked out my first reaction was why'd you quit before I read on. After however I'd say I'm surprised you didn't quit sooner especially after the work-related injury and the first surgery. What do you do now?

I guess it doesn't matter what company you work for Cart pushers are treated about the same. It's bittersweet. On the one hand its the only job where you essentially get a free gym membership and the chance to work outside with lots of sunlight. On the other the breaks don't necessarily come ontime and depending on the day people may become bitter towards you because they percieve you to be slacking off if the lot looks bad (even if nothing could be further from the truth).
Other days at random the will be properly staffed with other reliable cartpushers on duty, no problems. I like those days but its largely very random. Hey atleast we get to fart with no complaints right?

How about setting higher goals and getting yourself better job skilss. Seriously, if you don't like Wal-Mart, don't work at Wal-Mart. It's not rocket science man. Do something besides pushing carts. Believe in Yourself and stop blaming Wal-Mart for your situation. Create your own situation. Go for it!

spelling correction: "skills" not "skilss"

I am a slave to the carts but hopefully that will all change tomorrow. I have an interview at goodwill for a job, praying that it works. I am so close to walking out on the carts. I really need a new job. I pray this works out for me. I hate it because they do not even allow us to use the cart pusher machine because the moron who ran the machine before I came to work there lost the freakin remote and management is too cheap to replace it.

Yeah I know how everyone feels I've been a cart pusher at walmar fort 3 months now and I haven't once been appreciated for any of the work I've done, what makes this worse is that I've been working 8 hour shifts by myself every day since I got hired that shit really pissed me off and at the end of my day as I'm about to leave I see 3 or 4 part time guys come in and sit around and do nothing. They leave the water jugs outside every day, because of them are jugs got stolen and I got blamed for it. These guys didn't even appreciate the fact that I filled those up with ice and water every day for them before I left, but finally I got noticed by the store manager who came up to me and told me how he seen me every day working both sides of the lot and appreciated all the hard work Ive done. After that day it seemed like every day went by better and better I had told him of all the people who were lazy even some of the asshole managers that were always talking down on me he actually made some of the managers go out there and help me push carts and fired some of the other cart pushers, he eventually got me some permanent help. Anyways I guess what I'm trying to get at is if u just keep working hard someone will eventually notice you and things will get better.

Maybe you should start with cart pusher meetings, document all overworked hours, biased treatment of other employees, unsafe conditions, etc. Get creative take pictures of all kinds of shit, document everything. Then you could start charging ,lets say 15 dollars a week per cart pusher,to start a underground union. After you get a few hundred members from different stores you will have power to get things done. then you can put the squeeze on some bigger officials. Just an opinionated thought, nothing more. Might want to check the legality before you do anything, unless you also started an underground police union.Oh well just a bit of thinking out loud,LOL.Kind of makes you warm inside huh!!

I feel you hate towards Wall Mart! But what if real people, running a good record company are disappearing and not fulfilling their duties?
Listen to my story:
I have been trying to reach Mary Warren, the publisher of Ozarks Sentinel since may 27. 2009.
Recently Mary and Dave Warren were running a record company called D and M Records.
They released the debut album for my band, Barbarian Twins. We payed for 500 copies of the CD and told Mary Warren to send 200 copies of the CD to a hotel in Newark. The band went on their US tour in February 2009 and recieved the 200 copies in Newark.
Mary Warren promised to send us the rest of the CDs (300 copies) We have already payed for the cds and mail expences.
Now, June 19. 2009 we have still not recieved the CDs and we are worried that something might have happened to Mary Warren.
I have been able to find out that Mary Warren work as publisher for the Ozars Sentinel and I have tried to get a hold of her through their phone numbers and email adresses. But no one is answering.
Is there any one out there who know Mary Warren and who can give her the message that I am trying to get a hold of her?
You can send me an email: email@example.com

Wal-Mart treats all employees terrible. I worked there some years ago - about ten - as a cashier and they do not treat help well at all. We didn't get our breaks....you might work a whole shift and at the very end be told to go ahead take lunch and break before you go home. I learned how to cross my legs to keep from wetting at the check-outs.
I avoid Wal-Mart as much as possible and I try to buy American where ever I shop.
