Dog Warden

I heard that someone had gone up to the dog murdering place at Marytown and turned all the dogs loose. I hope he never finds them. What would be good is for the dog warden to pick up all of these irresponsible pet owners who keep getting these girl dogs and then turning them over to him. Then they will go get another girl dog. They need to be locked up for a few days and see what it's like. I have NO sympathy for these fools. I would like to be the one who locks up these people.

I have met the new dog warden and he is a real nice man. I think things are going to be done a little different now, he has alot of compassion for the animals and I guess around a place like this someone has to do it, who ever let them out just let them out to starve and fend for themselves. Hopefully things will change there now. I love animals I have dogs and cats and it always bothered me about that place so I am praying things will be done with more thought for the poor animals. Give him a chance.

Yes, yes, yes. Do you actually think they're going to pass laws here? These ignorant people keep getting girl dogs and let them run loose. I have had over 100 girl cats and dogs that were all strays. Lots of them belong to the neighbors. I have three generations of cats now that belong to the neighbors. I have had EVERY girl dog and cat spayed that I have taken in. I have 7 girls now, but I did have 14. I couldn't get to the second generation cat before she got pregnant. She had 2 more girls but I got to them in time. Can you imagine how much money I have spent on stray cats and dogs?

In the state of WV- a dog is personal property=like your car-the owner pays 3 to 9 dollars for this -the dog gets a tag.Every 1 or 2 years.Yes they are breaking the law is not so.The laws are passed,need to enforce them.

Voters make things happen.If no one cares but a few, then it is sad.Thats like the trash,picking it up don't fix the problem,arresting someone and making them pay a fine and cleaning a mile of trash up=does fix the problem.

Glad to hear about the dog warden. Many years ago when I lived in Welch, The stray dog and cat problem was handled by the Welch city police. When they picked up a stray, they took it up to the trash dump that was a ways past Jr. Poca, unloaded it and shot it. It was the way that problem was handled then. I recall a case where a policeman took a dog to the dump and couldn't shoot it. He took it home and made a pet out of it.

Matter of opinion on this post. I have a friend in Gary that had a ten week old kitten that was mauled by a ROTTWEILER three weeks ago in her yard and this dog warden was contacted several times and he has done nothing but LIE TO HER that he's going to something so if you have any problems anywhere in this great county of ours with any animals be sure and contact this GREAT DOG WARDEN I am sure he will do his job!!!!!!!!!

Glad you think so, I know how hurt this person was over the kitten. Dogs of this nature have no business loose and neither should PITS, they should always be chained and chained when they are walked. I have paid out the rear to have all of my female dogs fixed after one of my dogs had lots of trouble having 13 puppies because my neighbors will not keep their dogs on their property. I keep my dogs chained up and I feel it is the only responsible thing to do.

Well the fact of the matter is...He's only one man..c'mon give him a break....Heck he can't be everywhere in the County at once...So if your kitten gets mauled by a big rotweiller then handle the situation like an adult and then go on with your life...don't sit and blame the only person out there trying to something about it....

Chaining any animal is inhumane.

I know who your talking about & years ago she expected the humane society to pay her for taking in strays. I remember because I was a volunteer then at the humane society.

I heard that for every dog that is put down the county receives money....that came from someone from the humane society...I sure hope that isn't true. Could you imagine???That is horrible!!!
