Sarah Palin to settle scores in book
The Hill [Washington, DC], by Eric Zimmerman

Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin in a forthcoming book will hit hard at Sen. John McCain's (R-Ariz.) aides she fueded with during the 2008 campaign, Mark Halperin hints. "Names will be named," he says, citing sources close to Palin. The former Alaska governor will also deliver a "hearty bashing of the national media" but will forgo any policy perscriptions. In sum, it looks to be more a personal memoir than a boilerplate pre-campaign tome.

Palin's Book Tour Starts Next Week

Wednesday, November 11, 2009 10:06 PM

Get ready, America. Like her or not, Sarah Palin is coming to a city near you.

Last year's Republican vice presidential nominee is starting a book tour next week to promote her memoir, "Going Rogue: An American Life."

Is it a thinly-veiled bid to test the waters for a possible 2012 Republican presidential bid, or simply an effort to make money and cement her celebrity status?

Only time will tell. For now, the opening stops of her tour in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Virginia, North Carolina, Alabama and Florida, could be valuable if she later decides to run.

So far she is steering clear of major cities, going to smaller places like Fort Bragg, North Carolina, home of one of the biggest military bases in the country.

"From Michigan, the 'Going Rogue' tour will cover as much of the country as possible," Palin said this week on her Facebook page. "I've decided to stop in cities that are not usually included in a typical book tour."

The first week of the tour covers the eastern United States. After Thanksgiving, she will hit the West. Palin received an advance of at least $1.25 million from publishers Harper Collins.

A Charleston Daily Mail article reported that Sarah Palin has been mentioned in 13,118 news stories in the last month. She is more popular today, than she was a year ago. I can't be respect from the Main Stream American Media, so it must be FEAR.

Palin in second printing
Charleston Daily Mail [WV], by Don Surber

From Mike Allen at Politico:“HarperCollins has gone back to press on ‘Going Rogue,’ so the number of shipped books will be well over 1.5 million. Prepaid orders on Amazon alone are over 80,000.#1 on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.” I’d say her advance was covered. Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal said her book tour includes a stop at Fort Hood on Dec. 4, which was a favorite post for President Bush.

Doing alright for a little ole country gal from Alaska.

It is fear, indeed. Fear of the stupid, fear of the careless, fear of the thoughtless, fear of this woman being in charge of any damned thing more than a state full of moose and tundra.
Do conservatives not see that she isn't qualified to be President? Why do mid-stream conservatives (not to mention the far right) so despise intellect in their leaders these days? Is it anti-intellectualism? Is it the dying remnants of the frontier mentality as in: who needs a Renaissance man like Thomas Jefferson when you could have "bar" killing Davy Crockett at the head of things? I know Clinton was a lush, but at least he was a Rhodes scholar, and even George Sr. was a lot smarter than Jr.(and a better President).
So why is stupid the new standard for conservatives? Is it mistrust of anyone who has a good education, knowledge of history and world affairs and the ability to articulate a connection between that knowledge and the moulding of public policy? I really want to know the answer.
By the way, if you pick anyone better than Palin next time I will be interested. The current man in office is "business as usual", and the times call for far more than that.

Palin doesn't have many people following her other than the media. Conservatives don't even take her as a serious canidate if you look at the polls. She is just something to be ignored the same as Al Sharpton for the Dems.

Then why is it that conservatives do not fear her. I have not, like you, been allowed to see the educational qualities of the current occupany of the White House, and without his teleprompter, he cannot even make a sentence. No, I believe it is stark raving fear only from the liberals and democrats.
In any case you are hearing about Sarah now from her, and not from a bunch of McCain's losers.

Palin was the only true conservative on the ticket....McCain knew it. That's why he kept her under close watch. I doubt she will run for office, not that she isn't qualified....compare her record of votes and administrative skills to a fast talking lawyer from Chicago that didn't finish one term...you could tell that from his voteing record or lack there of. I think she will rally the conservatives..not the Republican party. Once the conservatives get out all the RINOs...they will be alright. I think Palin can help do that.

Your getting conservatives mixed up with Republicans.....most of the current republicans are the current problem. They took government to another level under Bush...I didn't agree with it. It was Republicans in 1994 that kept Clinton from these types of spending sprees and Clinton gets most of the credit for it....when there is a balance in D.C. we, as Americans are safer. Too much of something can be a bad thing.

Going berserk over 'Going Rogue;' Democrats' reaction to Sarah Palin's book and publicity
Los Angeles Times, by Andrew Malcolm

Wow, for somebody who's supposed to be such a political joke, an Arctic ditz and eminently dismissable as a serious anything except maybe a stay-at-home hockey mom, Sarah Palin is sure drawing an awful lot of attention from Democrats and eager critics.(Snip) Every few minutes another note from Democratic National Committee operatives and others dropped into electronic mailboxes across the media-verse, helpfully passing on even the tiniest tidbit of negative news about Palin.

Sort of reminiscent of the Liberals going on about Reagan and Thatcher.

This is from the same article posted above, it is citing a segment of Al Gores TV Station that was posted on The Huffington Post.

One of the more interesting but surprisingly not surprising anti-Palin bits came in news from HuffingtonPost, which published word that ex-VP Al Gore's TV channel Current has broadcast a cartoon which says Palin's real Twitter name is "Gun-Ho" and refers to Palin as a TWILF.

That's a play on a crude acronym thrown at Palin during the 2008 campaign, "VPILF."

The Web item suggested disingenuously that TWILF stood for "Tweep I'd Like to Follow." The F actually stands for another verb we don't choose to publish here. But it is indicative of the vehemence already directed at the conservative female former Alaskan governor. As if some see her developing into a danger before she does.

Spare Sarah Palin the Self-Righteousness
NBC News, by Mark Whitaker

WASHINGTON - Sarah Palin hardly needs defending. She prides herself on being a supportive hockey mom, but she can lace on skates and deliver hard checks into the glass with the best of them. Still, while watching and listening to a lot of the media discussion of the rollout of her book, I can't help noting that some of the coverage is more than a little selective, and hypocritical. No, Sarah Palin’s new book,“Going Rogue” is not, as Rush Limbaugh described it, "One of the most substantive policy books I've read."
On issues, it full of conservative platitudes and seemingly googled philosophical wisdom. It's mostly a work of self-mythologizing - Annie Oakley gets her political gun - mixed with a bitter political dish.

Why is Al Gore's TV Network and NBC concerned with Sarah Palin and Guns, what are they trying to lead up to?

Thousands cheer Palin in Mich. for book tour
Associated Press, by Kathy Barks Hoffman

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.— College students ditched class, employees skipped work and some huddled in the cold overnight just to make sure they get an orange wristband Wednesday that would let them meet Sarah Palin. Thousands gathered outside a Barnes & Noble and chanted "Palin! Palin! Palin!" for the kickoff of the former Republican vice presidential candidate's "Going Rogue" book tour, which has taken on the feel of a political pep rally.

Ah yes, Michigan, one of those blue states where the democrat mafia unions provide you with the best of everything, as long as you have a job and keep voting their way. Home of Detroit, city of honest government, cheap housing and safe neighborhoods. Dearborn, "little Palestine." Sarah is just the cure for what ails them.

The Annie Oakley of American politics
Salon, by Amanda Fortini

Sarah Palin’s ascent, not unlike Barack Obama’s, is an American story.(Snip) Say what you want about Palin or her positions (and, in the past, I have), it takes scrappiness and guts to strike back at the old-boys' network that anointed you by publishing a book, so soon after the campaign, detailing your frustrations and disillusionments. We might want to take a long breath before discounting her.

Salon magazine, who would have ever thunk it.

Lensman Violated Contract by Selling Palin Pic to Newsweek

Friday, November 20, 2009 12:58 PM

By: Dan Weil

The controversial photo of Sarah Palin that appears on the cover of Newsweek apparently shouldn’t have – by law.

The picture of Palin in skimpy running clothes originally appeared in Runner’s World magazine. And the photographer who took the shot, Brian Adams, violated his contract with that magazine by reselling it to Newsweek, according to AOL’s Daily Finance Web site.

Adams' contract included an embargo of Palin’s photos until August 2010, a spokeswoman for Runner's World told the site.

Fort Bragg reversed its no-media policy for Sarah Palin's book signing event on Monday, confirming that the best-selling Alaska author is a ‘politician,’ but not an ‘elected official’

The Army had a problem, and still has a major problem, I will try to explain.

CAIR has projected that the next Ft. Hood type attack should be targeted at Ft. Bragg, NC.

If Ft. Bragg is attacked during this Sarah Palin
book signing media fiasco, the media should be held responsible for the Army having to lessen their security standards to comply with the stupid media demanding full access to the Post.

Just something to think about.

Hating Sarah
American Thinker, by C. Edmund Wright

The Alaska Governor is far more than someone who appeals to the (conservative) base, she is someone who can make the base appeal to America.(Snip) The persistence and even growth of Palin's popularity and impact on the national discussion now makes unavoidable the reality of the elitists' worst fear: that there are more of us than there are of them. And we now realize it.

Facts are truth.

My theory about Palin's vast popularity with a certain segment of the American public is that they see her as one of them. Her lack of depth and knowledge confirms for them that you don't have to have wisdom to be successful. Her popularity is an indictment of the American people.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Taurus

Someone isn't mucking about today, and if they're annoyed about something they'll come right out with it. This means you could be on the receiving end of some zingers, but equally it means that you'll be giving as good as you get. Now, although it will be very tempting to let off steam by giving someone an earful, aren't there better directions in which to channel your energy?
