A Kimball Forum?

I didn't know there was a Kimball Forum. Do I know you or your parents? I was born in Bottom Creek Holler and raised in Carswell Holler. Went to Carswell Elm. School and then Kimball Elm.. From there I went to Kimball Jr Hi and on to Welch..

Does anyone remember me?

M..my brothers would have been about your age. Sadly, two of them have passed, but Charles is still alive and well.

Yeah, if you are who I think you are, I knew of Bobby's passing, God rest his soul. Are you related to Patricia M? Johnny M was married to Terry B, God rest her soul.

I may be related to Patricia M, but I don't really know. I make it home about once a year is all. My brother Johnny was only married once to a Cleary girl years ago. He had a major problem with alcohol and drugs and it eventually robbed him of everything including his life.

Yeah, I remember going to school with Johnny. He went to Northfork High School though.. Didn't he? Cause seems like I can remember him at Kimball Jr. Hi. He would be maybe 53 or 54 now.

Johnny never made it to high school. He quit school before he even got through Jr. High I believe. He was already consumed with alcohol by the time he was 15 or 16. It was a pretty rough upbringing in our household. He worked as a miner for several years though and God knows that he had such a talent with cars that he could have easily made millions with that talent if substances hadn't got in the way of that. He would be 53 now if he were alive today.

I'm sure I remember Johnny, God Rest his soul.. It may have been at Kimball Elm or Kimball JR.Hi. Looking back that far in my memory is like looking back through muddy water..

I can only imagine about the cars and Johnny, but it seems like most talented people are very self destructive. Not sure if you remember another one who was very talented, but with a guitar, James Dave Burks from Carswell?

HI how are you? Its been a really long time. I'm glad you all are doing ok. MOm ANd dad Still live on the mountain. They had 4 kids Iam the oldest I'm 34 now. Can u guess who I am? love ya

Been sick and have had a sore throat for a bit over 2 weeks.. They claim it is a virus. My grandson has had it a my Bride of 35 years is suffering from it now.. I've never had a sore throat that has lasted so long.. May have been due to the fact my health wasn't that good to start with.. Oh wll, God's Will and Plan..

I'm here daily. Playing the Word Game in Word Association Game.. Then someone started complaining about me playing I guess and I quit. Don't go to the Political things that much any more cause of the idiots who insult, lie and argue for the sake of argument.

Well, I was raised in Carswell Hollow and left about 10 years ago to go to college. I now live in northern WV but visit my family in Carswell about every two weeks or so. I may have left the area but I will always be a southern WV girl at heart. I am very proud of being raised in a small community filled with the best of people! I know things have changed down there but I still get the warm feeling every time I make the turn into the Hollow.

I was born in Bottom Creek Holler and raised in Carswell Holler the hill above the Smoke Stack and up from the old General Store. You could see our house from the Company Store..
