While I can't speak for illegal drugs, one thing I do know is that Sherrif Garber and by inference his department, have a real credibility problem with illegal gaming. Yeah, I know what your thinking, there are two casinos in the county, who cares about a few illegal video poker games. But those casinos pay a lot of money in taxes, and some of that money comes back to the Sherrif's department. Yet I can think of at least four bars right now that I know that offer illegal gaming, and I'm sure every officer in Hancock county know's where they are as well. When I lived in Hancock county it was strongly suggested that should I wish to put such machines in my business that they would be protected by local law enforcement and these representations were made by partners of the some of the Sherrif's inlaws. This absolutley doesn't mean that the Sherrif or any of his deputies are involved, but yet the machines ARE in Hancock county AND everyone turns a blind eye. Probably just a coincidence.

Sex, Gambling, and Illegal Whiskey (aka Moonshine)...The Vice Crimes!! I'd be willing to bet my 13th retirement check that EVERY county and Parish in the Sourheast United States has this in some form or another!! No religion, law enforcement agency, or code of conduct ever invented will stop these...NONE. Me personally, I feel that as long as the law keep them in check and out of the public eye...I have no problem with it, But, that GOD-forsaken scurge known as METH...ZERO tolerance!! If any law man is caught working with, making profet from or protecting this garbage in any way he should be publically shot!!

Except for Murray Ladner, (fact). The rest were disparaging remarks. There is a difference.

A blind eye is also turned to the sports betting operation that Garber's father-in-law finances, that is run by Pat's brother. Been in operation for years, but I'm sure Steve couldn't possibly know about that or the drugs that daddy-in-law peddles. Hancock.Phucking.County. YeeHaw!
