Boy, 8, dies in Reserve hospital; his stepbrother is also charged

St. John the Baptist Parish sheriff's deputies arrested the mother, stepfather and stepbrother of an 8-year-old Reserve boy after the child was pronounced dead in a hospital emergency room Tuesday afternoon. via Times-Picayune

There is no way they should get away with this. Children are a gift from God and should be treated as such. As a single parent I am appauled at the mother for not protecting her child. She should be punished as well. God holds us personally responsible for taking care of his children that He has intrusted into our hands. We as citizens should continue to speak up and not turn a deaf ear to what we see in our communities. I commend those neighbors who called the authorities and I hope that this serves as a wake up call for all of us to not stay quiet.

That was wrong for what that man done to that little boy.No one should be treated like that.I wish i was the mother of that little boy he would've been sitting in prison for a long time.I think he needs to sit in prison for the rest of his life.The mother of this little boy dosen't have any love for her son.It didn't have to go that far.He could've just talk to the little instead of just beating him.That child should've been treated nice with respect.
