I am a man that realize that in my current location. That we have a lot of children in killeen. Yet we have alot of parents who don't pay attention to their kids. I have watch people in go into stores like bestbuy. Where they have stuff on their shelves ranging from 100 to 5000 based on whatyou are their for. Yet the kids just run freely through the store. Most of the time the parents are off doing their thing or worse, they are talking to friends in which they are totally not paying attention. People lets pretend that you a little person with a wondering mind. At least have the common curtisy hold the child hand. Not everybody want to deal with your kids. S

As a parent of four, I totally agree. My children are not perfect and I will be the first to admit this fact. This being said, my children know that there is a "required" behavior when we go out of the house into a public setting. You will not see my kids running amuck nor screaming and throwing themselves in the floor because they do not get what they feel like they deserve. If I even see that thought begin to stir through their mind...out the door we go and to the truck and upward and onward toward the bedroom until we can behave appropriately! The people that have one child and cannot control them, or don't choose to, drive me insane. My oldest scolded a woman many years ago for letting her child knock things off a shelf and just basically ignored the situation while she yipped with her friend. The mother looked at me like I should scold my child...no way. I stood up straight and grinned. She grabbed her child and huffed away. I beamed and told my child that I was proud of her but that she should still respect her elders while stiffling the giggle. Oh and as for Best Buy...if you see my children in there, my 6 1/2 year old son will be the one standing there patiently holding the door open waiting for someone to come through it, no matter how slow they are walking.:) |

Best Buy has automatic opening doors. But I get your point and I applaude you for raising your kids to that standard. My 2 daughters are they exact same way. In my family, my children were taught to respect others, regardless of where we are, but most especially in public. Please don't take offense to my opening sentence, I sometime try sarcasm to keep the mood light.

Its good to know that their are some people that are teaching their kids some values. I myself don't have kids. Yet as a grown man even when I go the store with my mother or wife I try to be considerate. Hey I still feel a little akward when I am out with my mom and I loose site of her. Arms length is what as told growing up and pretty much stuck with. I understand how hard it is to raise kids. Yet it not a excuse to let your kids run wild.

There are everyday trials sure, but it isn't truly THAT difficult. Ok, well it isn't if they are your priority at least. |

The problem I am having is the fact that the don't pay attention to them when they have them. Then when some pervert child molester swoops them up. All of a sudden were boo hoo's and worried. Yet that perverted child molester wouldn't have had a chance if they were paying attention.

I keep a relatively tight leash on mine for just that reason. I used to work with sexual assault victims so I have an entirely different outlook on "strangers." |
