I was born at the old hospital in 1955. I remember going there in the 60s. You needed a map to get around because it was a lot of old wood buildings strung together. The walls inside were all painted lime green.

My brother was born there in 1951. I still remember walking down those long halls and their wooded floors. Seemed like you would never get to the end of them.

I was born there in 1963. My sister and brother were born at Darnall in '66 and '68. Were they still using this building?

When I was stationed at Ft Hood in the 2/13th Armor in oct1965 to Feb 1966 part of our unit used this old hospital as our barracks. My name is Jimmy C. Kovar SP/5 then.It brings back a lot of old memories.

I did my Basic with 1/13 Armor March 1966. After Basic was with 16th Engr.Bn and our unit used this old hospital as our barracks too.

I left Fort Hood in 1968 and the Old Hospital buildings were still there.

I remember this well. Used to go there all the time in the early 60s. My brother had leg parties, and he had a lot of orthopedic appointments. I remember the part of the building where the built leg braces. It looked more like a machine shop with all of the lathes and tools there. That hall seemed like it went forever, to us young boys. I have many fond memories of living on base in the Patton Park neighborhood.
