Gym X will be located in the Frontier Hills shopping center where Patriot used furniture used to be.

I would love a GymX, or anything else. I was not impressed with Cove fitness. Their prices are so much higher than the gyms in killeen. It would be nice to have something to choose between.

Cove Fitness should have put in a pool and they would be better off.

This is great news. I cannot wait, ACE/Cove Fitness being the only place in town has no competition or reason to lower their crazy fees. To be able to have the whole family enrolled for the cost of what I'm paying for two now is gonna be sweet. So is being open at the hours that will fit my schedule. And it will be nice to be able to get a guest pass without paying $10.00 a day for out of town guests during the holidays. So looking forward to it, bring it on.

What kind of prices do they have?

I have used Cove Fitness before and they are really overpriced. Because they are the only gym in copperas cove they have the corner on the market and they know it. As soon as a new gym opens, I will be a proud memeber and wait to see how the prices fall, even though it will be too late for the old gym! Should have treated your customers better!

So exactly what are the savings of using Gym X vs Cove Fitness.

In 2009, we paid about $80 a month for me and my husband. We had to sign a 1 year contract and pay an enrollment fee (I don't remember how much this part was).

The ASYMCA does have great hours 6:30 am to 9 PM . With your membership you get free child watch from 8am to 12 pm and 5pm to 8pm . You also get free Zumba class 5 times a week and yoga classes three times a week. The cost is a one time registration fee of $50 for a family or $30 for a single person and $50 a month for a family or $25 for a single person. They also have discounts for Military ,city employee's State employee's and lots more . The whole family can go and have fun. There is no contract it is month to month you miss a month no problem you come and just pay for the months you use. Check them out.

I am a member of the YMCA in Cove, it is an OK place but not a lot of room and well most equipment is OK but not enough have to wait your turn most times. Equipment needs up dated such as the Nordic track incline treadmill as on the Biggest Loser. The staps that mount to a wall or fixture for gravity workouts, more elipticals, etc just not enough stuff for the right amount of workouts needed. Not open 24-7 this is a plus for those night owels that can't sleep or get to the gym during the regular operating hours.

A perfect example of "you can't please everyone" I work out 5 days a week at the Y, I never have a waiting problem. as far as equipment needing to be up dated, what is it like a year old? An elliptical a machine made by Nordictrac for those who are not familiar with it. Anyway check out the Y for yourself don't let a persons opinion stop you from going by and seeing if the equipment they have is right or not right for you.

I checked out the new GymX and it's awful. Cement floors provide no traction when you're lifting, and it's way too cramped in there even with no people in it. All the equipment is used, you can tell. You get what you pay for, people, and it will be just like all the other GymX locations in no time-a dump.

I would NEVER workout at Gym X!! There is no staff and I don't want to be put in a situation where I could get raped! I'll pay a little more to get good customer service and feel safe when I work out. I'll stick with Cove Fitness!

I am just kinda shocked that people are talking about the price of the cove fitness gym. 1 you get daycare in the price, 2 you get a chance to tan for super cheap, 3 the spa treatments that they offer are amazing and cheap, 4 you get a meeting with one of the personal trainers for free that is a 70 dollar value, 5 you have a massage therispt on site and for super cheap, 6 the group fitness classes are included. I was paying 10 dollars a class for Zumba at other gyms. In my eyes you get what you pay for and so to me the prices are amazing and I think if you want to work out where some nasty cheap sweaty guy is going to be dripping on you cause the building is so small have at it. I say go Cove Fitness and the YMCA and really get a kick butt work out!
