The new Lowes is what it is...a new store. It is nice. I still like Ace.

The store just opens and it's already a problem finding someone to wait on you. Give it a few more months and it will only be worse. At least in Ace you can get a question answered. Can't even imagine what it will be like when the season is over and even less people work there. Thanks KDH for screwing up your own town.

The comment above is spam. I've been in the place several times and I've been swarmed by help! Its as nice a big store as I've ever seen. If anything, its an improvement to the neighborhood.

I agree, I was swarmed as well. BTW, I don't think you'll be going to ACE to buy your next Fridge, huh? Don't get me wrong, I like ACE, and the people of ACE, always have. I still go there for my HVAC filters and some other little things. But, a little competition on the Outer Banks is what we need to keep prices in-line. Do you agree?

I'd rather look around for an extra minute or two than pay 2-3x as much for the same thing. Lowe's rocks.
Sorry

I like ACE too, but their prices are over the top. I have to agree.

I prefer Home Depot here over Lowes. The new lowes is pretty to look at but the people that work there wont speak to you and if they do they are clueless. When I go into Depot I always have several people speak to me and they are so much more knowledgable. Not really even close in service
Yep part 2

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? NO One in HD has a clue about what their talking about. I have never talked with anyone that would even ask for assistance in HD. HD employee's are bunch of retired newcomer Yankee's that just moved here. Lowe's is A LEAST a north Carolina company. The people posting above are the HD newcomers.

Thats awful funny, I know MANY that are there that have been there for a long time and have helped me several times. Your yankees reference and Lowes being a NC company does not change the fact that Lowes SUX in comparison to Lowes here in terms of service AND IT AINT EVEN CLOSE.

All I know, a friend went out to purchase hardwood floors for his home and saved $700 over Home Depot and Lowe's at Lumber Liquidators in VA. Lowe's and Home Depot are great retailers, still love wholesalers! Maybe we need one of those in the OBX to!

HD has all the part timers that don't care about squat except getting that paycheck. Lowes did their best to hire the best we have on the beach. I found their associates friendly and knowledgable. It's tough to hire pretty much all local and not get a few duds. All I know is they have created jobs here in OBX where there were none. Great store all in all.
