It was a bad landing more than a crash.

The plane is a taildragger which requires a lot more concentration when landing compared to airplanes with conventional landing gear. You actually have to fly a taildragger all the way down. With a conventional or tricycle gear airplane, you just cut the power and float down.

Taildraggers often have larger propellers and when they are landing, the prop is pointed a little more upwards. This increases the gyroscopic force and p-factor.

I'm not sure exactly what happened but the airplane ended up striking the prop and looks like the wing hit the ground. That airstrip can be tricky. You are set up to land, compensating for the crosswind...then as soon as you are close to the ground, you drop below the treeline and the crosswind stops. There is little time to correct.

Just a small point, the term "conventional" usually refers to tail wheel aircraft, not tri-cycle planes.

Tricycle gear is more conventional than tail wheel aircraft these days. Maybe a tailwheel was conventional when the wright brothers were giving you flying lessons.

Oh yeah.. Thanks. It's been a while since I was in flight school and I've never flown a tail-dragger.
