Salamanca Teacher Stole Money

[Of Course]

Is it true a certain Middle/High School teacher in Salamanca stole all of one of the classes' fund raisers monies?? The students say it's true and 'authorities' refuse to comment.

Anyone know about this?

Are you kidding, "Authorities" refuse to comment??? This is the norm for the school, city and community. Everything is hush hush... Friends and family plan working just fine.

Ys, and thats why we are asking for peoples input in the many unsolved murder cases in the area. Please see ski wing, carol fitzmaurice, karen damon, josie despard etc in the olean and allegany topix, and leave comment. There are murderers out there getting away with things for years due to poor LE work and coverups in the area.

Yes, the Hight School Spanish teacher gave all the students the answers to the Spanish Regents exam nad now all of the students have FAILED the exam because she cheated and was turned in!! She also stole all of the money for the class fund raiser. Of course, it will all be kept quiet though...but it IS TRUE!!!!!
Salamanca School Board needs to check out who they hire instead of hiring according to their "Friends and Family Plan." Good Ol Salamanca School District - becoming QUITE THE JOKE!!!

Yes, the Salamanca School system has become terrible. Prospect and Seneca Schools are good, but once they enter Middle School it is terrible. I blame the school board...they are a BUNCH OF morons!!!!!
I totally agree that they hire only their friends and families... even if they are not qualified teachers/principals, or account mamagers, whatever.. it all depends on wheter the School Board emembers have a connection to you or not.
This Spanish Teacher's background was enver checked...Shanme on the Salamanca School Board!!!!!

Why is this woman still teaching? Has she been reprimanded? Its her first year teaching. I have a daughter that will be taking spanish with her in the fall.....

She has been QUIETLY fired. She has also run off(with the class fundraiser money) and I hear that authorities are looking for her. Your daughter won't have her for a teacher next year...she is gone! I am sure her Teaching License/ Certification has been revoked or will be. It is a SERIOUS offense to give the answers to a NYS regents exams!

What the board should do is hire a PR guy - I hear a former board member, and friend of current board member Crandall, is available - to smooth this all over. Because it's not performance that matters, it's perception. Yep, when things get really bad, we don't roll up our sleeves and address the real issues: we duck, dodge and deceive.

Salamanca already has a bad reputation, so why don't they show some pride and get this out in the open and hire some decent, good teachers who really teach instead of trying to be friends with the kids. The kids run that school, and it's all going downhill!

We need to get rid of Crandall. He is a big part of the problem ! WHY was he voted in again???
He "created" a job for his wifey after he went bankrupt!!! He cancels funding for the musice department and adds new sports that his children are interested in playing. He is a JERK!!!! HE is one fo teh big reasons that Salamnca is a joke

There is so much going on at the schools that gets covered up. The school board is a farce..Crandall and his croonies running the show and covering it all up!!! What a pathetic school district!
We do need to overthrow the school board and demand that they hired qualified, professional teachers and administrators! Fire most of them (starting with school board, superintendent and all administrators) and start fresh!!!! There are a handful of good teachers in the district - at the elementary level schools - none at the middle or high school. Although, there are many bad teachers at the elementary schools as well(one very abusive pre-k teacher comes to mind!!! And a lot of drug addicted teachers in the district as well ). This school district (and the football team) has gone to HELL!!!!!

We have no one to blame for Mr. Crandall being back but ourselves. We are the dumb ones who voted him back into power. Well, not me, I voted for Mrs. Thrush instead of him.
I am a parent and I am appalled at what I see these kids doing and I am kind of glad that my son has only one or two friends. I mean half of the kids today I wouldn't want walking down my street let alone in my house.
One other thing, our teachers and administrators are the highest paid in the county, yet we have the lowest graduation rate. How can that be? Where is the coverage of that?

I am not judgmental or stuck-up. I really don't care how much money people do or don't have. As long as they are honest, hardworking people, I can get a long with them.

What I don't have time for is people who refuse to get off of their ass and work for what they get. People who would rather live off of the system than earn what they get are scum bags and the world would be a better place if we just sent them to a dessert island.

I couldn't agree more!!!! There are a lot of teh deviant children or their inept parents on these boards acting like children and making excuses.
Ignore them...they don't seem to know any better! They will be the future generation of people living off the system!

I'm disappointed in the lack of summer school and free drivers' ed. Those two omissions are inexcusable. Isn't the mission of the school to educate? Why did we just increase the budget...?

Baseball is one of the sports added...

They only had the varsity team 3 years ago, but couldn't get enough kids to field the team, so the cut the sport. As soon as his son was in 7th grade, they put in a modified team. Now they have a JV and a modified team.

Not only him though. Brent Martin's kid is also in baseball pretty heavy and next year would be eligible for the varsity team. Watch it come back next budget year.

I agree. Crandall needs to go, I have been saying that for years. Another one that is a joke is Larry Whitcomb. What a useless principal he is to the middle school. The kids run that school! Also the teachers in the middle school all want to be the students "friends" and don't teach like they are supposed to. We need an entire over haul in the entire Salamanca School System.
