Kalispell area wolf pack to be killed Nov. 29

Full story: www.missoulian.com

The remaining members of the Hog Heaven wolf pack will be killed for preying on livestock in the Kalispell area. The state Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks authorized the USDA Wildlife Services to kill the wolves after a 2-year-old bull was killed last week near Kila.

Is there no way for the wolves to be relocated where there is no livestock? I thought that was the purpose of preserves.

Too many people in farming communities have the same reaction to wolves. It is hard to understand why the wolves are going after livestock. What other types of prey do they have? What are the numbers of that prey? Is there an abundance of their natural prey or is it a low amount of other prey that is causing them to go after livestock?
The latter may be the case and it may not. Many of us will never know.

If livestock had a voice just imagine all the warrants and execution orders they would have for humans.

Considering our attitudes towards livestock surely they would rather take their chances with the wolves.

Ranchers and farmers spent more than a century to eradicate wolves and put an end to the danger and destruction that wolves had plagued livestock and humans with.
The US government turned around and wasted more than one million taxpayer dollars apiece to reestablish wild wolves into America to flourish. It's a felony to kill a wolf now and wolves have repopulated enough to resort back to their murder and violence by roaming in packs to wreak death on the innocent.
Thank environmentalists and the government.

Are you absolutely that CLUELESS???? Take a look around you: Nature is violent. Cats kill birds, large birds kill fish, snakes kill, insects kill, etc. and so on. It's one of the facts of life that so many people like YOU cannot accept. Look at humans! We kill thousands of livestock to put a good steak or roast on our table!
The only things the wolves are doing is what comes naturally. They are NOT violent murderers as you choose to blindly believe. Open your eyes, moron.

Apparently, Bob, you have googled 'wolf' and this message thread emerged. That's what makes learning the English language so tough, those very subtle nuances of speech. Try this: http://www.topix.com/news/weird/2008/11/restr... If you get on to that thread quickly you can be the first poster and, therefore, you can establish the vernacular of the discourse. Good luck!

Wolves are predators of opportunity who happen to be very smart and social. If we take their small prey from them, they'll go after what's next up in the garden--our pigs, chickens and, when push comes to shove, cows.

Cows are not part of the natural ecosystem: they won't survive without feed and human care. That makes them a commodity like electric power and gasoline. And God forbid anyone messes with our commodities! Also, keep in mind that cattle ranchers are spring-loaded against anything that threatens their crop (beef) even if it's a miniscule loss here and there.

Wolves are no serious threat to cattle and they certainly aren't going after our children, even in fairy tales. But they do provide a service: that of clearing the woods of excesses like deer, prairie dogs, racoons, wounded critters, etc.

There once were elephants, camels, tigers and very large wolves roaming America. They became targets of convenience and we killed them off. There were never herds of Herefords, Angus or Longhorns roaming the west. These are commodities of our own making.

Lonewolf is right about humans encroaching in their territories.People with too much money and too little time on their hands to worry about the damage they cause.
Then,??We, have people that "just" have to have the biggest spread in the state, something that you can't take with you when you go.
The Wolf, was here before amd will be here when we no longer are around. This was their place long before man moved in and they had to move out.

Wolves may be delistes soon in the Northern
Rockies. The USFWS under the banner of Ed Bangs,
(who has slaughtered many wolves) seeks to have them delisted by the end of the year.

The comment period was just a formality since the USFWS wants nothing more than delisting them.

They hope to do it before Barack Obama gets into
office.

http://www. idahostatesman. com/235/story/586396. html

To up the stakes, the Idaho Department of Fish and Game 'claim' that wolves are causing the decline of elk in the Lolo Hunting Zone.

This is a hunting zone. Wolves don't decimate
food sources, and their study, of course, doesn't
include hunters.

http://www. fortmilltimes. com/124/story/373849. html

And the IDFG supports hunting. Which is also why
they want wolves delisted. This is also why wolves cannot be delisted.

Odds are if they are, a lawsuit will happen. Wolves must not be delisted, ever. Delisting
wolves would be like weakening protections to protect people from crimes since there are so many people in the Northern Rockies.

Non-Lethal Methods must be promoted, implemented and enforced by wildlife agencies.

CONTACT THESE PARTIES IN OPPOSITION TO THE DELISTING
AND SUPPORTING THE DESTRUCTION OF WOLVES.

Oppose Ed Bangs and his plans of destruction for Wolves and the USFWS' plans for the Wolves mentioned in Idaho.

A Wisconsin wolf was shot to death in Monroe County in the Town of New Lyme.

Right now the murder is being investigated by the Wisconsin DNR and they hope someone will come forward with information.

dnr. wi. gov

However they are only investigating it because it is legal, since the Wisconsin DNR isn't happy about wolves being classified as endangered.

The only people, IMHO, who still believe the wolf is a viscious, thoughtless killer, are simply and wholeheartedly uneducated on the subject and/or to damn selfish and cares not for anything that does not satisfy their desire to please themselves.

Hunters want the elk, kill the wolves. The farmer wants to live in an area where wolves hunt, expect to loose a cow here and there. It's part of the path of life. It's how it works.

Wolves play an enormous part in our ecosystem, but no, ya'll won't stop long enough to learn about that. It's only what can I get for ME right now. I call ya'll 'drive thru Americans'. I WANT IT NOW! Don't care what I have to destroy to get it.

We are not here, on this earth, to destroy it and use it up. When, oh when, are we going to figure this out? When it's too late? Looks that way to me.

This is all I will say on this.

Let's kill the humans instead of the wolves. The wolves are more intelligent than a lot of humans nowadays anyway =_=. It's humans taking over WOLVES territories, and yet they are killed because humans are getting in the way?
