<quoted text>That ship you see is actually the Democratic Party ship of fools - being led by Obama on a voyage to find the fabled land of Socialisma, but actually on course to hit Reality Reef. If the ship looks empty, it's because survival minded Dems are quietly slipping overboard and furiously dog-paddling for shore. Some - like you - are drifting aimlessly, clinging to "blame Bush" flotsam that was rightfully discarded long ago... while others stretch in desperation for the shattered pieces of the race card that float by amidst the muck and scum.
Unfortunately, the worst is yet to come. A huge wave of American Freedom & Liberty is bearing down on all of you, ready to swamp you even as you cling to in desperation to sinking hopes and the bitter chill of disillusionment. And as you meet your end, you'll realize that Socialisma was nothing but the deluded fantasy of you and the others on your ship of fools.
lol! Ok, so now instead of supporting your premise, you go into a vitriol of why Obama is bad. After huffing and puffing and blowing your party's ego up, the best you can come up to support your position is ... nothing so instead you resort to going after Obama again.

Ok, I get it. It was all talk about the GOP and how good they were.

And btw, we've had socialism for a long, long time now. Take a look at our military.

People are legitimately concerned because they see a *trend* towards *socialism*- nationalization of industries, proposed public health care, etc.

No, we have NOT "had socialism" as a country. A country is NOT "socialist" simply because its *military* shares *some* characteristics with social programs or even socialist systems. That's like calling a "duck" a "cow" because they both have two eyes and live on farms.

Furthermore, WE civilian, non-military citizens are not concerned with how the military is structured or operated, and those in the military understand and accept the need for the same. WE are concerned about the political system under which WE citizens live. By a similarly illogical argument to the one you're making, you would then say that we've always had an "authoritarianism" in the form of our military, and therefore...??? So what?? Would that somehow be relevant if political leaders wanted to impose an authoritarian system on the general population? Obviously not!

Ridiculous. Both are totally moot points and nonsensical comparisons. Stick to the sightseeing, because your brain is definitely on vacation in this argument.

Ok, you want to include the word "legitimate," that's up to you. I still can't argue with an opinion.

You don't like how socialism is already pervasive in our society, again that's fine. Besides, I never said the US is a socilistic country because of the system of the military that we have. It's just an outgrowth of the military. No different when any other community of people get together for their common good and share their resources depending on their need. But it is a socialistic trait. Otherwise, our military would be mercenary in nature (not that Bush wasn't heading down that road anyway.)

I hate to tell you this but WE the citizens ARE concerned about how the military is structured. That's why the military reports to CIVILIAN authority. So the military is never fully in charge. So there is no authoritarian military in charge. Period. Although again it seems Cheney tried to change that a bit as well. Your analogies are really a stretch especially since you don't make a tie in.

And it still doesn't explain why the GOP is better than the Dems or any other non-conservative party. Now that's what I call having blinders on.
Bowing Down to Terror

Hmm, let's browse today's top news stories...

"A 19-year-old Jordanian citizen was arrested Thursday in a dramatic FBI sting operation after he parked a vehicle laden with government-supplied fake explosives at an iconic downtown Dallas skyscraper and attempted to detonate it..."
http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/d...

"An Illinois man was ordered held on Thursday on charges he tried to blow up a federal building in the state capital..."
http://www.reuters.com/article/marketsNews/id...

"Two men charged in North Carolina last month with plotting terrorist attacks overseas also planned to attack the U.S. Marine Corps base in Quantico, Virginia..."
http://www.reuters.com/article/domesticNews/i...

"Twice in the past two days, SEPTA officials have alerted police to men taking pictures on the Broad Street subway line in South Philadelphia."
http://cbs3.com/local/SEPTA.Broad.Street.2.12...

But hey, according to Obama and the Left - there's no "war on terror"! Nope! In fact, we're going around and apologizing to the nations of the world for our own evil, sinful nation. And we're pursuing our own intelligence service, the evil CIA, with a vengeance to stop them from gather intel on all these harmless, Muslim pacifists - and hopefully, send some of these CIA guys to jail! Maybe we can even nail the attorneys who issued legal opinions which allowed them to do all that nasty stuff to the poor terrorists!

Hey, while we're at it - maybe if there's an extra room at the White House, we can provide safe haven for that poor, unfairly persecuted guy named "Bin Laden." We can make him out new, "Islam Czar."

Love, peace and happiness...
