Shawn Lathrop writes "But I'm most disappointed in those people who vilify and curse the hard-working state employees who are ...."
I think Shawn has a typo, I believe is should have been "hardly-working".
Actually Shawn, I know there are public workers that are hardworking but there are far too many of you that are not. And in fact, there are just too many of you, period. The fact that someone might be an auntie or uncle or cousin of someone doesn't entitle them to a free ride forever.

No matter. Even with furlough or layoffs, taxes will increase. People are to dumb to think, every thing LL says they agree. Better get ready to pay more and thank LL for it for she is responsible. Someone has to pay for LL, her staff and lawmakers salary. So don't blame the workers, they will collect unemployment benefits and will expect the same money all you whiners got, including retraining, welfare help and food stamps. good job LL and whiners. Now pay more.

SHAWN LATHROP----

I THINK YOU SHOULD PUT THE BLAME FOR THIS FISCAL CRISIS WHERE IT BELONGS----THE LEGISLATORS IN THE CAPITOL. THEY ALOTTED THE FUNDS TO DO THESE "FEEL GOOD PROJECTS" AND MANY OTHERS, THEN TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY THEY ACCEPTED A 36% PAY RAISE...

IF THE POLITITIONS DON'T CATER TO THE "SPECIAL INTERESTS" GROUPS, LIKE THE UNIONS AND PEOPLE WITH MONEY (WHO WANT THE SPECIAL "LOOP-HOLES") AND AGAIN, THEY THEMSELVES CONTRIBUTE TO THIS "AMAZING FISCAL CRISIS". THEY FIGURE A FIX IS MORE TAXES AND MORE SPENDING..........ALA THE STATE UNIONS, THEY FEEL THEY ARE ENTITLED MORE THAN ANYONE ELSE BECAUSE THEY ARE SPECIAL)?????????

PERSONALLY I WOULD HAVE GONE WITH THE FURLOUGHES----A JOB FOR ALL IS A LOT BETTER THAN A JOB FOR SOME....GET IT??????????

THEN AFTER/WHEN ALL THE FUSS ABOUT THESE RAISES CAME ABOUT "SOME "OF THEM ARE GOING TO ACCEPT A 5% PAY CUT", SO BIG OF THEM, DON'T YOU THINK?????????

Still from Kaneohe....
