It is bad but check out Niel's 10 billion dollar bill to buy votes for goovernor by having Hawaiian labor unions build housing on Guam....I wonder if he spends his own money like he spends ours?

Let us not limit this to just the Hawaiian Monarchy but extend this well thought out argument to its fullest degree of turn-back-the-cucu-clockism. First we start with California and give it back to Spain. That will immediately solve the financial problems there and also make Spanish the official language. Next we go to Texas and give it back to Mexico. Instead of Tex-Mex food, they will call it Mex-exTex. And then we go to the Big Apple and return Manhattan to the Indians. Wall Street becomes the worlds largest Casino, causing Las Vegas to collapse so it too is turned back to the Indians and the strip becomes the worlds largest (and hottest) open market where they will sell Indian Jewelry, tax free. State by state, we can solve the global warming problem, bring about world peace and supply moccasins to all the shoeless children in the world. Eventually this will lead to the dismantling of the UN, remove the demand for foreign oil and open up new international markets for sacrificial virgins. Hollywood turns into an academy award-winning movie starring Keven Costner and Ruth Buzzy building an international telegraph and tom-tom communications network which Al Gore later claims he invented. The story ends with the polar bears taking over Canada, General Motors going into Chapter 7 Bankruptcy and the rail in Honolulu having to do its EIS over to comply with the cultural impacts of horses pulling wood wheels on wood tracks.

The comic irony in all this is that Kauanui, the co-author, would not be where she is today had Western Europeans never arrived in Hawaii. Pre-contact Hawaii had no written language, much less a system of higher education that awarded college degrees. She certainly could not have traveled to California for college - there's no evidence Native Hawaiians ever sailed to North America. As a woman she would have been a second-class citizen in traditional Hawaiian society. Unless she was a member of the heriditary ruling class she would have no right to participate in governing. Likewise she could forget about voting, civil rights, freedom of religion, freedom of expression and all those other benefits of Western civilization. No, Kauanui wants to cherry-pick from history. She'll gladly take all the benefits of the American citizenship that she so bitterly denounces while claiming special inherited status from a culture many generations past that she has no intention of going back to. She doesn't even live in Hawaii yet she wants special rights that those of us who were born and raised here, and who still live here, would be denied. All for various wrongs that she NEVER EXPERIENCED HERSELF!! If American society is so oppressive to Native Hawaiians then how did she ever earn a PhD and get a job teaching at a top university? In fact, the United States is the land of opportunity, as so many immigrants recognize. And few people have benefited from that opportunity as much as Kauanui. That's why it is downright hilarious that she is so obsessed with being a victim when the exact opposite is true.

It appears that the authors truly believe their premise about the evolution and devolution of Hawaii citizens. It appears that they do believe in their cause, and I applaud them for at least speaking their minds in that regard. One has to wonder who on earth awarded degrees to these two, however. Imua!

Another blah blah blah written by some Ph.D's in Hawaiian Studies. Nothing new, nothing substantial. And around and around we go.

Rack-em! An Epic take! Manhattan is all ready over run with Indians however; from the subcontinent. "Another card, or do you want to hold?" Just end this nonsense!

"settlers like himself and we who are the heirs of the kingdom: "our islands" (ours not his), "our national government" (his not ours)." What racist, divisive poppycock from Niheu and Kauanui! Apparently, Kauanui has given up "her" island. Or perhaps she wants to be a snowbird and just winter on "her" island. It's all about gimme, gimme, gimme!

Giving it back to the Indians makes better sense than outsourcing the same resources to Pakistan, India, China which is currently done. With Native Americans, the money stays domestic. Similarly as with Native Hawaiians. They will not send all of their money home to Baguio, or where ever it is that Hawaiians come from.

The only credibility to this commentary is exposing one of Jon Van Dyke's (and his cohorts) main motives behind the bill. We all know who he works for.
The Hawaii state government will still be in control of all the land and natural resources, except they won't have to answer to anyone, not the feds and especially not the Hawaiians. And once they have the majority of people here on their payroll, who will object? One good thing would come of it. We, the opponents, will know who are the real dummies they publish all those books for.

And that is why you keep bringing this point up. Can realtors, by extention of their connection with State of Hawaii be able to add marquesan land to their inventory? Navy can do UARC research there, build housing, which eventually can be resold as Oceanpoint II, to retired military or Donald Trump type concerns. Profits abound!

Put Navy and UARC personnel there who can then vote for acceptance of the Marquesas into the family of U.S. territories.
