What can one say to such stupidity. Put her in prison for a couple of years. 19 years old and MIT; seems like a waste but behavior has consequences.

How could the police be so completely MORONIC - once again the Boston police think than anything with a battery attached must be a bomb.

Wasn't MA the founding location of American democracy? Enough of this BS. Give me liberty or give me death!

RESIST THE POLICE STATE.

It astonishes me how often the Boston police decide a device with "blinking LEDs" is a bomb. I think they watch to many old sci-fi movies. I'm sure the Al Qaeda manuals instruct all suicide bombers to make sure to include blinking LEDs on their bombs.

Suicide bombers usually don't give you a second chance and they destroy the entire building they're in. If the police procedure assumes the terrorist is the one who detonates their own bomb, they're ignoring what we know from Iraq. Maybe they need to be trained better.

She should have also included she had even less common sense than our administration, which in itself is remarkable.

how much brain do you need to wear something that looks like a bomb in an airport ? usually MIT students are smart ... but her IQ is probably below 0 ... a bullet to her foot would have been a very good lesson.

That's insane. And by that statement, I mean the proposed response by security, not the student's actions. It's an "unavoidable tragedy" that innocent, yet mentally ill people are shot and KILLED? Because geeky students with a bent for wearing quirky objects are NEARLY shot and killed?

This is only so in a police state with fascistic tendencies.

So much for the land of the free.

Wow I feel safe knowing that airport police are ready to put a bullet through me at any second. Yet another reason to avoid airports.

Boston over-reacting again. First shutting down the city for cartoon characters flipping you off, now threatening to kill a 19 year old MIT geek.
