Fantastic service and excellent food.
I absolutely agree. I didn't know they now have a place in Maplewood though. I'll have to go find it.

Actually crab is incredibly healthy. You will not gain weight if you stuff yourself with crab. It's the deep fried side dishes and butter sauce that will make you look like an out-of-shape Vikings O-Line Man.

Another example of why Kathie Jenkins is the worst restaurant critic in the metro. Faces is hardly hopping, and the food is mediocre and overpriced. At least the service was good.

Lake Elmo Inn has the best brunch and has hand carved roast beef that is very good. Tried Oceanaire and was very disappointed! Not that great seafood and the atmosphere was less than desirable for a special occasion, over priced, too! "Scallops" to me is not one scallop butterflied in half which is what came on the grilled seafood plate.

Agues it depends on what kind of crab you are looking for.

For instance, a few decades ago a former girlfriend of mine, and who at the time would have been in her twenties, got in an argument at a public library with someone who was most likely in at least his mid sixties over whose turn it was to use the photocopy machine, and which concluded with her telling him that he was just an old crab.

Of course, it is quite possible that guy had brothers, sisters, cousins, and also both children and grandchildren. So if we had gone to a family reunion of his, perhaps we could have found a large and varied collection of old crabs, young crabs, and even middle aged crabs.

My wife and I tip 20 percent with excellant service, but it sickens me knowing that someone who prepares the meal is not part of the tip process. After all, someone carrying my dinner to the table is a service without much merit compared to the person who ACTUALL MADE THE FOOD!
You obviously have never worked in foodservice! At every restaurant I've worked at, "tipping out" has been the norm. A percentage of the servers tips are shared with both the kitchen staff and bar staff. That's just courtesy. Also, any good server will know, if they tip out the kitchen and bar well, they get better service from them. So don't think that 100% of your tip stays in your server's apron, because it probably doesn't!

Hey lady, what the he11 is the matter with you ? Ok you were offended by the server. She apologized. The manager apologized. They gave you 50 bucks and you still feel the need to drag this into the paper? You need to eat at home.

If more servers had the stupidity (or guts?) to challenge tip amounts I wonder if people would tip better. 13% would be unacceptable for a good meal with good service. 17% is barely acceptable. I consider 15% to be the minimum for okay service. If the service is good, 20% is more the norm, and for excellent service, closer to 25-30%. Why people are so stingy with a dollar or even 5 after spending as much as they have on a meal already is beyond me.
I would give you more money Joey if you had bigger boobs.
