Full story: TwinCities.com

Lake Elmo's court-ordered plans to grow have been postponed - again. The Metropolitan Council is not enforcing an order to make the city one of the fastest-growing municipalities in the state.

One reason the ciy of Lake Elmo needs guidence, is their past record at planning. They did nothing to protect future city inhabitants, when they allowed the dump sit to be built on Jamaca Ave. and then, as soon as the dump was filled, OK'd a new subdivision, on well water, right across thr street from the dump! Gess whatThe new home owners wells were contaminated and their property values dropped below constructioncosts, and still, no one could sell!

Why would someone buy a house that needed well water next to a dump? Do we really need the gov't to protect people from being stupid?

Obviously you are not the brightest bulb in the light fixture! That area was lanscaped over and the city was advocatingng the site as the new ball field location. Folks from out of the area bought lots and homes there, without any idea ,that it had been a dumpsite! The city was at fault for approving the site plans in the first place. It was amatuers on the city Planning commission that first signed off on these site plans!
