David Moore, a Vietnam War veteran and German acquisitions specialist at the library who organized the event, said he had received several e-mails threatening violence and that he shared them with police and the library's inspector general. He added, "Free speech in America is pretty well dead." Quite the opposite. There are AM radio hate-mongers who have publicly called for acts of violence against politicians and have not been arrested, had their broadcasting licenses pulled nor been fined, standing firm with their First Amendment freedom of speech very much intact. Not dead at all. Interesting that when people shout down the actions that happened at Abu Ghraib, they're destroying the constitution. But when a conservative talk-show host suggests to his audience to disrupt a political convention with violence if necessary, he's exercising his rights.

Could Andrew man-up and actually tell us the name of this "conservative talk-show host"? Or is this just one more mindless accusation from the liberal side? I'm surprised Andrew didn't lay out his race card too. If you want an example of a threat to free speech, here's one: the White House has asked people to forward the names of people who are speaking out against Obama's healthcare plan. You send the message to whitehouse.gov . In return, the White House will take down the name of the villain and send him emails, on public money, letting him know that the govt is watching.

That means you Missy, you should be ashamed to show your face in public after what you did let alone give speeches & profit from them. I'm afraid you're going to have to get a real job to support yourself & your child. I assume this is the child that resulted from your illict relationship with a married man while serving in the military. Oops we almost forgot about that.

Since you asked: 'Limbaugh said massive riots in Denver, which he called part of "Operation Chaos," the people on the far left would look bad. "There won't be riots at our convention. We don't riot. We don't burn our cars. We don't burn down our houses. We don't kill our children. We don't do half the things the American left does." "We do, hopefully, the right thing for the sake of this country... and riots in Denver, at the Democratic Convention will see to it we don't elect Democrats. And that's the best damn thing that can happen to this country, as far as I can think," Limbaugh said.' I don't point fingers very often. I tend to believe that both sides of the political fence have the same failings, and both parties put their own incumbency ahead of honest opinion and intelligent discourse. So when I do make a specific accusation, it is neither 'mindless' nor invented.

Why is this guy equating free speech being dead with people being angry that this low-life was going to speak at a government owned facility? I think some people's brains have rotted out and the don't even know what "free speech" means. This scummy woman has the right to profit from her horrible behavior if she wants to, but those who disagree have the right to say so as well.

Tom from PV - where in the world did you hear that bunk about sending names and emails to the government? That nutcase Glenn Beck? Have you even bothered to visit the website you listed? Or are you too afraid your computer will be infested with liberal "cooties"? Take off the tin hat and go outside. It's a beautiful day.

Andrew, no where in your quote from Limbaugh does he "suggests to his audience to disrupt a political convention with violence". In FACT, Limbaugh merely said the obvious -- Republicans don't riot at their conventions but if the Democrats do, then it will hurt their cause.
What YOU claimed, Andrew, is that conservatives are asking their audiences to use violence to disrupt politics. We're still waiting for some proof from you.
So what conservative talk show host asked his audience to use violence? Please let us know, if you ever find the proof.

Lucy -- I don't blame you for not knowing this. If you rely on the Breeze or mainstream news then you will never hear about important issues. You will keep up with Michael Jackson's death, what Obama's wife is wearing, and what Karl Rove is up to. That sort of thing is covered well in the mainstream. Here's the story in a nutshell. The White House asked for people to monitor emails they get for "false" information on the healthcare plan. If they find it, they are instructed to forward the email to "flag@whitehouse.gov ". Some people have dutifully followed instructions and now people who oppose Obama's plan are getting emails from the White House. The ACLU is even objecting. If you want more, google "ACLU on flag@whitehouse" Again, its not your fault your never heard of it - the mainstream media is highly partisan. Unless of course, you refuse to listen to news that isn't filtered. That would be called "denial". And lots of people are into denial about Obama. Now, if you do read a couple of stories from your google search and conclude "thats not so bad" -- just imagine if GW Bush's white house were doing the same thing! That should get your lefty hackles up!

LOL! Of all the people you could get to speak why this loser? Poor white trash out of West VA with a kid out of wedlock. What kind of imagine do we want to send? And who buys books like she wrote?

Not right at all to deny her a chance to speak.
I also would recommend that anyone who wants to dump on the Americans from West Virginia read James Webb's "Born Fighting". That heritage you call "white trash" has produced more soldiers from the American Revolution to today than any other region of our nation.
Lynndie England took a fall for her superiors. She deserves a little more respect, she did after all volunteer to serve her country, and by all accounts was a good soldier.
Then again, by silencing her (not exactly a profile in courage by the moderator) how could any of you know that?

Rush Limbaugh spelling out the specifics of his Operation Chaos to his listening audience and how to go about enacting it isn't sufficient for you. Your turn. How about you link us the actual government web page that call for the names of people who object to Obama's health care plan, that you mentioned in your previous post.

Andrew - so you admit Limbaugh's Operation Chaos NEVER asked listeners to commit acts of violence.
So your first message in this thread is nonsense. That's all I wanted to say.

That’s the objective here." Rush Limbaugh saying that his OBJECTIVE is RIOTING I'm sure isn't sufficient for you. Meanwhile, I'm still waiting for you to even ATTEMPT to backup your allegation of "the White House has asked people to forward the names of people who are speaking out against Obama's healthcare plan." I would very much like to see something tangible that I can Google or otherwise second-source that claim.

(that's right, I'm providing more substance to your allegation than you are) where the administration has set up something similar to a FAQ page about the healthcare program. It seems that they want to be able to define the disinformation rumors and rebut them individually. They are creating an "urban legends" list (which is apparently being billed as a list of names of detractors) and address the rumors head-on. The ultimate irony here is that your right to make (unsupported) accusations of censorship is protected.

Andrew -- on orders from Obama, the program has been stopped. If someone forwards an email to flag@whitehouse.gov, it gets bounced.
Look, I know you are an Obama supporter and will never willingly admit he could possibly do anything wrong. Thats how you guys are. So I don't expect you to admit here that Obama pulled the plug on the operation. Your eyes are closed.
And once again, there is NOTHING in your Limbaugh quote that even remotely implies he is inciting his listeners to violence. LImbaugh is talking about a Democrat convention where Obama is denied the nomination and it ends up in a repeat of 1968.

Andrew - here's a simple question about credibility. If I were to refute your claims about Limbaugh by going to his website and finding "evidence" that shows he is a great guy -- would you really give that any credibility? So, why would you go to Obama's website at whitehouse.gov and use that as "evidence" to prove your point? You don't have to answer my question. I'm just trying to show you how closed-minded you are being here. I don't expect you to stop being an Obama-bot, but perhaps you will think a bit outside the box. Thanks for listening.

Tommy boy you are off on your usual tangent. The fact is Lyndie is a scapegoat and she is perfectly able to tell and defend her side of the story. Any one who saw Errol Morris's "Standard Operating Procedure" knows that this soldier, while making mistakes was just the tip of the iceberg. She should be allowed to speak. Speaking as a liberal, this is not a good thing that I assume other liberals have done. Free speach cannot hurt you.
