Last night my family and I were down on Front Street welcoming Santa and watching the tree lighting. The carols sung by the school children, The hot chocolate and the general atmosphere was great. The children were laughing and having a great time. just the looks on the childen's faces when Santa showed up made the whole night worth while. But like everything I know some residents in town will say this was a waste of money or a waste of resources. To them I say. Too bad. get over it. There is nothing more important then making our children happy. Especially during the holiday seasons. To the Mayor and Council I say, Well done! You've made the residents proud.

Sounds like you had a nice time with your family. We are a family from NJ considering buying in Holmdel next year. We have 2 children under age 10. I wanted to know if you feel the town has a good community? Are the neighbors friendly and do your kids have lots of friends? We are considering this area b/c of the high ranked schools and the NY commute.

Thanks and Happy Holidays!

Keyport is a great town. I've raised all of my children here and can't imagine living anywhere else. My neighbors and friends are respected and responsible and to whom I would trust my children. Of course no town is perfect but we're working on it.

Keyport and Holmdel are two very different towns. Keyport is a little town on the bay with a neat little down town with good bars and restaurants and a bunch of old houses. Keyport is pretty blue collar, but has a real tight knit community. Holmdel is a sprawling suburb. Not much character, but stellar schools, which seem to be the one thing Keyport lacks.
