'People shouldn't be afraid of their government....governments should be afraid of their people.'

And so should corporations...:)

The Constitution says you have the right to "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness". Life, obviously that the government cannot take your life without due process. Liberty, that you have the freedom to live your life as you want except of laws that are established for all. And the PURSUIT of happiness. You can go down any road you chose in order to make a better life for yourself. No where does it say that if you chose wrong that you can TAKE from others. No where does it say that if you're too lazy to go to work the government will provide for you. NO ONE IS ENTITLED TO ANYTHING. Go to school and learn the best you can. Work hard and develop ethics and self reliance. Still you have to have some luck and sometimes bad things happen to good people. In those cases I can see the government stepping in and helping you GET BACK ON YOUR FEET. These people are protesting what? Rich people got rich and aren't sharing. Too bad! It's not your money. You can't have any of it. Earn it! If you took out a mortgage that you knew you couldn't pay don't blame it on anyone but yourself.

Wall Street greedheads take from others, politicians take from others, bankers take from others, cops take from others. You're a clueless idiot who doesn't even know what he's talking about.

What exactly did these wall street guys do. According to the Attorney General no criminal charges were filed because no laws were broken. These guys took nothing. They traded currency, stocks and other valuables. The mortgage crisis was caused by Washington not Wall Street. Anyone who thinks they're owed something just because they're protesting is sorely mistaken

I think they're protesting the big industry (oil, coal, tabacco, and BANKS) lobbyists control over the government. I can stand behind that.

Nope it's more than that. These people are fruitcakes of the highest caliber.

A list of just a few demands by OWS supporters.
-Repeal the Taft-Hartley Act.
-Raise the minimum wage
-Institute a 6 hour workday, and 6 weeks of paid vacation.(US has no fed mandated time off. every other 1st world country does.
-Repeal racist and xenophobic English-only laws.
-Create a single-payer, universal health care system.
-Pass stricter campaign finance reform laws. Ban all private donations. All campaigns will receive equal funding, provided by the taxpayers.
-Pass far stricter environmental protection and animal rights laws.
-Create a 5% annual wealth tax for the very rich.
-Make homeschooling illegal.
-Reduce the age of majority to 16.
-Abolish the death penalty.
-Release all political prisoners immediately.
-Immediate withdrawal from Iraq and Afghanistan.
-Abolish the debt limit.
-Strengthen the separation of church and state.
-End the 'War on Drugs'.

Because those in power cover up for them does NOT make the banks, insurance, and investment houses "innocent." They deliberately conned people into buying questionable mortgages, bundled and sold those mortgages as investments, and ended up bringing down the world's economy. If that's not a crime, what is? The fact that no one has really been punished for it is WHY they're protesting. Surely that should be obvious even to you.

What's your source for these, and which ones to you object to and why?

Merely stating a bunch of claims means nothing.

Harvey, if you're going to debate things you have to use common sense and stop just making accusations. We all know the wall street jerks manipulated stocks and they move cash around with stocks and other items. But they're in the position to do those things. No one forced any American to play the stock market or buy homes they knew they couldn't afford. Allegations of crimes has to be followed up with proof. We all know these guys are slime but they haven't committed crimes. As for the Wall street and other protesters. Enough already. Unless you have a specific focus nothing gets donw. These people are and were all over the place with demands and complaints. Now the legitimate protesters are gone and the crazy loons are left. All they want to do is break stuff. At this point they're not going to influence any changes.

I asked some QUESTIONS, dungball. Don't lie about what I said, it's not only dishonest but (given that the posts are still up there) you'll make a fool of yourself.

What's with the insults? I didn't and don't lie about anything. All comments can be checked. There really aren't that many for people to miss so stop with the insults. People are not entitled to other people's money or property. Whether by stealing or taxes. People want good salaries and benefits they had better go to school and get an education. All studies show that the higher up in education you get the better your chances are of having a good job.
