laurence harbor should push for a train station whoever is against it should re-consider the idea it certainly would up-grade the area, instead of worrying about a boardwalk that generates absolutely nothing!!lets give it a GO wake up!!

Sorry, "jake", but I disagree. A boardwalk or any kind of walkway along a body of water (river/bay, lake, ocean) does give an appeal to a town. Many people purposely move out of a city or from up north just to live near such towns. Laurence Harbor is a very small town, considered to be a fisherman's town. And where exactly do you propose a train station in L.H. to be built? Shall it run right through Memorial Elementary School and the adjacent baseball field??? What about cost? I'm no engineer, but train stations (duh) need the space for railroad tracks & trains. How many commuters do you really think would need to take such a train out of L.H.? Your idea is beyond senseless! There are train stations located in nearby Matawan and Hazlet. If anything is needed, perhaps a larger commuter's parking lot could be created in L.H., with shuttle service to the Matawan station, as parking is really tough.

it seems to me you people in laurence harbor are more worried about fish and boats then making good things happen this is not the 1950s anymore but laurence harbor looks even older then that!and as for the boardwalk as you people call it there`s nothing there but drug addicts in the summer, lol i never heard of a town putting up a boardwalk and tables for drug addicts!what a great town, what laurence harbor needs is a bull-dozer to take down all them southern style shacks, and build decent housing with decent people!

I don't live in Laurence Harbor, just pass through it regularly. There's drug dealing throughout the township, not just by the water/boardwalk areas. I do understand your concerns, though.

building another boardwalk in laurence harbor is like building a street to nowhere!known for it`s bait shop and purple glowing fish and a basketball court that draws in the undesirable`s laurence harbor is just another town stuck in time.and as for a train station OOH NO that makes too much sense, then all the empty homes will be rented or bought the value of the town will go up easy access to new york and other area`s. but i guess these people would just like to fish and dream, like all losers DO!

To: Jake and Skizots:
Jake, I agree this area needs to get rid of the scum and improve. Thi area was a sume rest back in it ay casinos etc. The dea ofa train staon was alreay put on the board. Was voted down by Councilman Hoff due to a school being so close in proximity.
Skizots, There was room for such an endevor due to not being approved the land was sold and homes were built.

i passed laurence harbor today using route 35,and it seem`s to me they are putting the harbor back the way it was before sandy back in time 1950 nostalgia,in that case why build a new morgan bridge, why not just put planks across and leave at that!i think the town`s leaders have old school views,no changes same ole, same ole!they say laurence harbor is the gateway to the jersey shore, well if i was new to the area driving south down the shore and seen the gateway i would make a U-TURN and go back to where i came from!needs NEW thought`s and idea`s !
