My Boyfriend and are heading to Key West the last week of March. We have been once before, but on a cruise and were only there for a day. I was wondering what the tourist traffic was like during that time. Is it generally crowded? Also any recommendations on what we should do while we are there. We are in out mid twenties and very active. Thanks for the help!

The snowbirds are pretty much gone at that point, but Spring break is heavy in mid to late March. Mid-twenties? You'll have a blast.

the sixty-four dollar question is this: how slow will it be due to the recession/economy? I have seen prices posted for nice places WAY lower this year than that. example: Reach Resort,$179.night. Way more last year

the trick is, you need to wait the hotels out. book now for march, you will pay more. wait until march first, and if the economy still stinks, you will find some nice deals.

so much to do there! snorkeling out in the reef (about 5 miles out) on a boat is great - can combine it with a sunset sail, parasailing is awesome - go to Smathers Beach for good early in the day deals, best beach for swimming/snorkeling is Ft.Zacharay Taylor - not sandy (mostly coral) but lovely place with beach chairs for hire too, great dining all over - definitely try Louis's Backyard for a splurge and get there before sunset - they have incredible decks overlooking the ocean and fabulous food (we also love Sarabeth's anytime - try the cream of tomato soup), great shop is Fast Buck Freddie's on Duval - step above many of the stores, great place for coffee/bagels/coffee cake is The COffee and Tea House near end of Duval, La Te Da has fabulous high class drag shows and dinner, rent bikes for best overall experience (just lock them religiously) or rent a scooter for the day. That's for starters. Don't need to bring many clothes or shoes - very casual and carribean.
