A&W recyclers claim to pay big bucks for metal, but find ways to rip you off.

I took 8 full bags of aluminum cans up to A&W recycling on Tuesday, along with some scrap aluminum siding that I had in garbage cans. As soon as I pulled in, 5 mexicans came rushing at my van and started grabbing bags of cans when I opened the doors. They never weighed the bags or the scrap siding that I had. They took them back to a conveyor belt and started pouring them into a machine. One of the mexicans handed me a slip claiming a low ball amount that I can get from the cashier. I tried to ask questions but they didnt speak English. The cashier was a female Mexican who couldnt speak English either. I feel I got ripped off. They advertise 70 cents per pound but I think I got about half that. They never wieghed them so, I dont know. Im never goin back there again. Has anyone else ever felt like they get scammed at the recycling places around town?

Where is A&W recycling? You should come to Fond du Lac, we wouldn't rip you off..

I would like to express my satisfaction of A&W Iron & Metal. I have been going there for many years and have never felt "ripped off". The week that Brian was at A&W was Earth Week. This is a week that A&W likes to promote recycling and it's importance for keeping our community and Earth beautiful for generations to come. I was at A&W during this week and it seemed so was, what seemed like , most of Washington County. It was very busy and yet I was treated politly and my questions were all answered. I received a free t-shirt for bringing in aluminum cans and my children received suckers, coloring books and other items to help promote recycling. I guess if I had such a concern about this sort of thing, I would ask to speak to a manager or owner, not complain about it over a computer. That will get you nowhere. It's nevr too late to go back to discuss this issue with the owners. I know them and they are always very accomidating to their customers. Please consider this.

I used to go to Kewaskum High School, I don't know how anyone can love anything about that town.

This week they have two ads in. One for 70 cents and one for 75 cents. I wish I had taken my stuff in when it was 95 cents just a couple weeks ago! But as the gas prices go down, and thats good, so does the aluminum!!

With all the bad things you hear about buisnesses lately. It's great to have a place like a&w iron&metal that really gets involved in the community, and treats customers like old friends

I was born and raised in kewaskum. You dont know a good town when you see one. Its people like you that give good towns bad names. And its a good thing that you moved out. How old are you? 18? grow up

The Kewaskum when I grew up in was probably alot different and no I am not 18 I'm 58...
