Kewanee needs a new quarterback, Washburn is absolutely pathetic. If you run the ball 5 times and get laid out every time, you probably shouldn't run the ball again. Maybe that kid should gain some muscle and he might actually be able to do something with himself. The coaching is pathetic too. I'm not attending anymore football games. I'm dissapointed.

OMG....r u kidding me?....we need a new quarterback cause he had one off night...seriously people...you have to have an offensive line to block And protect your quarterback..if you dont have that...yes your quarterback is gonna get hit everytime!these linemen need to be taught the correct way to block And if they cant do it....theres several on the sideline waiting for a chance. So, dont come to anymore games...we dont need anyone there that doesnt have faith in these kids....its bad enough that they are working their asses off all week And have to suffer another unnessesary loss on fridays...And then on top of it possibly come across this bullshit you people write about crap you know nothing about. Get off these kids backs....most of this is not their fault And you would know that if you knew anything about football.

maybe he trips over his shoelaces because every time the ball is hiked he has a defensive player in his face.one thing i do notice is 9 times outta 10 that kid has to scramble out of the pocket because to no fault of their own our line is under sized and doing the best that they can whie playing on both sides of the ball.they all work very hard, and deserve much better.the backs cant get anywhere either.these so called coaches are doing nothing to help these young men.our defense does well in the first half of the game.as the game wears on our players are getting tired and the coaches are to blind to see it.look at all the other players just standing on the sidelines waitng and waiting to go in.hicks and nuding are both injured, and they are putting in sophmores before they even consider any of the other eligable capable jrs/srs.so you point your stinky finger somewhere else you obviously dont know jack shit.the coaches are getting our boys hurt.

These wannabe coaches are going to keep gettin the players injured if they keep up with this ironman football crap and it is wearing on the team. Get off your high horse.Last year is gone. We need coaches. Not teachers that think they are!

have you all forgotten you are talking about kids who are playing the best that they can? maybe it is the coaching that is making the team suffer, or perhaps maybe the kids don't have the skills you would like to believe they have. either way, they are kids you are beating the piss out of on here.

....ive watched these games And used to play....that washburn kid is a very good quarterback.....maybe they shouldve moved him up to varsity last year like they did those other sophmores And he wouldve had some good experience And also wouldve had that massive line to block for him And would know what it feels like to actually have time to get rid of the ball. But he knows whats comin as soon as that ball is snapped...opponets that are looking for the guy
with the ball! Ive seen this kid throw the ball in practice.....he has an awesome throw And thankfully he can scramble....but if he had the size of line they had last year....you all would see the athletic ability that kid has!

......And also....i see there are several kids playing both ways,hicks,nimrick.nuding.murp hy,bollinger etc....And washburn, he is their starting quarterback And you dont want him injured..he is the one kid you should never ever have playing both offense And defense. Playing defense and then having go back out on offense And play quarterback is just plain dumb..he needs to rest And be somewhat fresh And ready. Coaches should know that.

David is not that good of an athlete, but he would be much better if the team helped out and pulled together as one. I think davids head is a little to big for his shoulders from a parents point of view..

I don't know him... never seen him play... but if he's playing offense AND defense, I would say he is quite athletic, in my opinion...

You should be ashamed of yourselves. This young man and all the athletes who put themselves out there should be respected for their commitment and character. Most start playing sports for fun and would like to continue to do so, but "fans"get involved. High school athletes are not paid, do not train all the time as a matter of fact they tend to be better students, join more service organizations, these are facts that have been researched. Most athletes give up opportunities for jobs, and social lives to play a sport and be a student at the same time. We should hold them up for having the guts to walk out and play in front of people who are looking to criticize instead of encourage. It is much easier to play when you are winning and takes more courage and more fortitude to walk out on the field when victory is seriously in doubt before you begin for a variety of factors. There are many reasons kids do not win games, but everyone who dedicates themselves to bettering themselves and others, every athlete who show sportsmanship and commitment, and yes compassion and character is a winner. Those young men some of you are criticizing now, have the courage to wear their names on the back of their jerseys every time they play...you cannot even sign your name to a comment...I do not believe in the battle of who is more admirable, who is a winner...you even have a chance. Proud of all the athletes, band members, key club students and student who puts themselves out there. Proud of all the individuals who realize the sacrifice and difficulties it takes just to be a student in our society and who are respectful instead of critical.

I could care less about people running back and forth on a field with an oddly shaped ball, nevertheless Helen is the most correct person to leave a comment on here, leave the damn kids alone and just show some support for their honest effort.

The offensive line lets him down off and on. And I agree, that a QB, no matter how athletic he is, shouldn't play D. Too many hits to scramble his brain, bruise his hands, and tire him. I know the school is much smaller than in my day, but you do have to protect certain players.
