Toulon, Ill.—

Three people were in the Stark County Jail Monday following a drug purchase staged by the Stark County Special Operations Squad.
Jailed were Ronnie J. Parks, 26, of Davenport, Iowa; Jaleigh A. Grasty, 26, of Streator; and Rochelle R. Sephus, 30, of Kewanee. All are charged with one count of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, a Class 3 felony.
Authorities said the arrests followed the sale of less than .5 grams of cocaine to an undercover agent in Stark County Friday night.
The three were arrested in Elmira following a traffic stop shortly after the purchase. Six people, including Grasty’s 2-year-old daughter, were in the vehicle.
On Sunday, Circuit Judge Stu Borden found probable cause to charge the three.
Bond for Parks was set at $20,000 with 10 percent to apply and he was appointed public defender Robert McBride.
Grasty’s bond was set at $40,000 and public defender Ed Woller was appointed for her. Sephus’ bond was set at $50,000 and she was appointed lawyer Robert Rennick Jr.
Borden said that if convicted, Parks could face up to five years in prison.
Because of prior convictions, Borden said, Grasty and Sephus could be sentenced to up to 10 years.
All three are to appear in Stark County Circuit Court Friday.
Two other passengers in the vehicle were released without charges. Stark County authorities contacted the Department of Child and Family Services to place the toddler into the custody of a relative.
Grasty told authorities she had a 9-month old being cared for by an individual at the Fairbridge Inn in Kewanee.
Kewanee police checked on the baby’s welfare, Kewanee Police Officer Jon Jagers said. He said the caregiver, Dimitri M. Lopez, 24, formerly of Kewanee, refused to acknowledge police.
Police obtained a search warrant and entered the room, where they found the baby and Lopez, Jagers said.
Lopez was arrested on a Henry County warrant for aggravated battery and a Bureau County warrant for failure to appear on a charge of driving on a suspended license.
In the Henry County case, Lopez was charged in connection with a Sept. 7 incident in which a 23-year old man was stabbed in the abdomen at a Kewanee coin wash.
Henry County authorities tried to serve the warrant for Lopez’s arrest but he reportedly had fled the area.
Police took the infant to Kewanee Hospital for a medical evaluation before turning the baby over to the care of DCFS.
Lopez was transported to the Henry County Jail.
Since its formation six months ago, the Stark County Special Operations Squad, a unit of the Stark County Sheriff’s Office, has made several arrests and seized narcotics, cash, vehicles and other assets.

How is she innocent? Drug sale means jail time for everyone involved. And I hope you all get time, you are a drag on our society and I hope you get the full sentence. If you had kids involved in this deal, i hope that you won't see your kids until you finish the program and or sentence.
