Comment: When is the light bulb coming on with Obama a big supporter of the unions.

Hostess closing Seattle bakery; 110 workers affected
Hostess Brands Inc. is permanently closing three bakeries following a nationwide strike by its bakers union.

The maker of Twinkies, Ding Dongs and Wonder Bread said Monday that the strike has prevented it from producing and delivering products, and it is closing bakeries in Seattle, St. Louis and Cincinnati. The facilities employ 627 workers.

Thousands of members of the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union went on strike Nov. 9 to protest cuts to wages and benefits under a new contract offer, which the union rejected in September. Union officials say the company stopped contributing to workers' pensions last year.

Hostess has argued that workers must make concessions as it tries to improve its financial position.

This is hilarious. What we have here is a circular firing squad.
On the one hand, we have the president's wife forcing healthier eating on all of us, especially the children, who are the chief target of Hostess's food line. Of course their income is down.
On the other hand, we have the union desperately trying to squeeze more money from a company whose sales are greatly dimished thanks to the union's supposed friends, the Democrats and the president's wife.
The private sector unions do not understand that a company cannot force people to purchase it's product and increase sales any more than a municipality can force resident to vote for tax increases to meet union demands.

Does anyone know of a site that lists what companies are union and what are not? I would like to support non-union companies when possible.

So is Cub Foods, but they have been forced to close their Dayton stores due to the competition from Walmart.

Walmart and Sam's are non-union, at least for now. The unions would love to take over Walmart.

God I love Obama and his Socialist.Marxist plans for America.
He gives us so much free stuff we don't have to work; others will pay for it.

I don't see a link there to the entire story, do you? A brief mention in a discussion is not posting the same story twice because the brief mention gives no details.
I could keep track of your multiple postings, and typos, and misspellings too, but I'm not that petty or eager to point out everyones slight mistake. I don't have to pick other people apart in order to feel good about myself. Want proof? There is a misused word in you last sentence. Can you find it? I'm not whoever it is you think uses AOL either.

The union held out, believeing Hostess would be bought out and the new owner would keep the current contract.
The Teamsters union advised the Confectionary Workers to take the pay cut, but Trumpka ignored them and it has blown up in his face.
The real lesson here? Greed. Union greed. The company is nearly $1 billion in debt. There was no money available to meet the union's greedy demands. Who would buy a company with nearly 1 billion in debt?

Shall I go total the number of threads you have posted about the WalMart walkout scheduled for next Friday? Do you know what WalMart does when a store votes for the union? It closes the store.
