Contrary to what this biased and uninformed left wing pundit writes, it is he who perpetuates the lie about the "bridge to nowhere," and many other lies propagated by his far left zealots in the mainstream media, such as the Washington Post, the New York Times, CNN and CBNBC.

The truth is that if Alaska Governor Sarah Palin had not personally vetoed this bridge's construction,(as one news anchor said: "she put the last nail in its coffin") it would now be well on the way to completion.

While it's correct that she was in favor of the bridge in the initial stages of Congressional consideration, once it became clear that it was the product of a corrupted legislative process, she turned against it and rejected it.

The funding was appropriately used for other higher priority projects in Alaska which had been properly and transparently vetted.

Each time Gov. Palin proclaims that she killed the bridge to nowhere, she is telling the truth. And each time this and other far left pundits say she didn't they are lying. The documented record is clear and unassailable.

Palin kept the money for the bridge which was canceled and spent it on other things. Just remember just because she's a born again Christian and shoots a gun doesn't make her necessarily qualified to be vice president. In fact there are thousands of republican women more qualifed than her. Rove picked her to sucker the NRA and pro life people back in the fold. They were considering jumping ship until this revelation. They're easy to figure out, they have got tunnel vision for their one issue voting.

Palin was only AGAINST IT, after she was FOR IT because it didn't pass the "smell test" and had become a political albatross. She is as corrupt and accomplished a liar as they come...amazing for such a "religious freak-zealot", eh?

Hey Joe....

Not so much into reading eh?...What Eugene Robinson was pointing out was the fact that Palin is not exactly truthful in her recent statements regarding the "Bridge to Nowhere".

What she did was like a kid demanding a pair of $250 sneakers. When his parents balked he compromised with " Okay, just give me the $250. And I won't ask anymore."

here's Robinson again......read it slowly Joe.....

"Except that on Saturday, days after the interview, Palin said this to a crowd in Nevada: "I told Congress thanks but no thanks to that Bridge to Nowhere -- that if our state wanted to build that bridge, we would build it ourselves."

That's not just a lie, but an acknowledged lie. What she actually told Congress was more like, "Gimme the money for the bridge" -- and then later, after the whole thing had become an embarrassment, she didn't object to using the money for other projects."

Barack voted for Cheney's energy policy

Barack Obama criticized Republican John McCain on Tuesday for taking a page out of "the Cheney playbook" on energy, overlooking his own support of oil-friendly policies that the unpopular vice president helped to craft.
Vice President **** Cheney, a former oilman, early in the Bush administration helped draft an energy policy that Obama asserted is biased in favor of tax breaks and favorable treatment for big oil. Obama's remarks were an attempt to capitalize on Cheney's unpopularity....
However, Obama himself voted for a 2005 energy bill backed by Bush that included billions in subsidies for oil and natural gas production, a measure Cheney played a major role in developing. McCain opposed the bill on grounds it included billions in unnecessary tax breaks for the oil industry
Oops! Obama changed his mind again...
The "Change we can believe in" slogan, actually means the number of times Obama will change his mind until the election day. Here is the latest on the "change we can believe in":
The new change: Obama wants us to tap into National Oil Reserve to reduce the oil prices.
The old change, July 7: Obama thought it was a bad bad idea.
Obama the Change
Brit Hume: "Obama started the year by selling hope, but now he’s selling audacity"
Dana Milbank of “The Washington Post”: "Obama started out as the presumptive Democratic nominee, and now he’s the “presumptuous” Democratic nominee."
He did promise us that he is for CHANGE, and we are seeing exactly that. His true colors are coming true!
YES, HE CAN!

Did Barack Obama Violate the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act?--
Paul Caron has Barack and Michelle Obama’s tax returns on his website (tip to Instapundit). The first thing that jumped out is that in some years Barack received no speaking fees or honoraria. Apparently, as an Illinois state legislator through 2004, Barack was prohibited from taking honoraria for speaking under the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act.
But what about Barack Obama’s 2000 and 2002 tax returns?
2000: On his 2000 Schedule C-EZ, Barack reported that he received $16,500 as a “Foundation director/Educational speaker.”
2001: On his 2001 Schedule C-EZ, Barack reported $98,158 from a Chicago law firm, Miner, Barnhill, for “Legal services/attorney”(and nothing for speaking).
2002: On his 2002 Schedule C, Barack reported $34,491 for “LEGAL SERVCES / SPEAKING FEES.”
These “speaking fees” are in addition to the amounts that Barack was paid as an employee, a lecturer at the University of Chicago, reported on the first page of his 1040s.
The Illinois Governmental Ethics Act (apparently last changed in 1995) provides:
(5 ILCS 420/2-110)
Sec. 2-110. Honoraria.
(a) No member of the General Assembly shall accept any honorarium.
(b) As used in this Section:
"Honorarium" means a payment of money to a member of the General Assembly for an appearance or speech, excluding any actual and necessary travel expenses incurred by the member of the General Assembly (and one relative) to the extent that those expenses are paid by any other person. "Honorarium" does not include (i) cash payments made on behalf of a member of the General Assembly to an organization described under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986,(ii) an agent's fee or commission, or (iii) funds reported under Article 9 of the Election Code [i.e., campaign contributions].

LIARS' ROUND-UP http://www.nypost.com/seven/06282008/postopin ...
Media Excuse Obama’s False Advertising
http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/publicat ...
Media defensiveness about Obama and his Communist associations
http://www.stoptheaclu.com/archives/2008/06/1 ...
Obama neglected to mention that his grandfather, Stanley Dunham, selected Frank Marshall Davis as Obama's father-figure during his time in Hawaii. This is how his grandparents helped his mother "raise" Obama. Davis, a black communist writer and poet, was a role model for Obama during a time when Obama needed someone to look up to and was formulating his thinking. Davis filled Obama's head with anti-American thoughts It's one thing to be associated with communist terrorist Bill Ayers. It's another thing to sit through the anti-American sermons of Jeremiah Wright and belong to his church. But to have a father-son relationship with a top Communist? This might be hard for voters to fathom. That is why the information has to be concealed from voters at any cost. And this is why Obama went to such lengths to conceal Davis's identity, referring in his book, Dreams From My Father, to Davis as just "Frank."
Unfortunately for Obama, Professor Gerald Horne, a writer for a communist publication, blew the whistle, disclosing that Frank was Frank Marshall Davis. Horne was proud of that fact and spoke in glowing terms about the relationship to a mostly communist group at Tamiment Library at New York University, which received and now houses the sanitized Communist Party archives. The Pattern of Associations
To be sure, Wright and Ayers are important personalities, and much more needs to be investigated and told about their role in influencing Obama, but they figure in Obama's later life during the Chicago phase of his career. By contrast, Frank Marshall Davis was there in Hawaii?at a crucial time according to Obama himself?to mentor a young Obama, who was desperately in need of a father-figure. These were the crucial growing-up years. As a father of three sons, I know how important these years can be. Obama knows, too.
The Davis influence over Obama helps explain why Obama, when he went to college, admittedly selected Marxist professors as friends, attended socialist conferences, and discussed neocolonialism. Davis, in short, explains the rest of Obama's life and career, including his subsequent associations with Ayers and Wright. It adds up to a list of controversial connections and associations that would clearly disqualify Obama from ever getting a federal security clearance. But as a presidential candidate, he doesn't need one.
We thought at first that conservative media figures were shying away from this explosive information because they feared being labeled as "McCarthyites" if they raised it. Then, in the case of Fox News, we learned that Rupert Murdoch, owner of the Fox News parent company, News Corporation, was publicly saying nice things about Obama's presidential run, calling him a "rock star" and other nonsense and saying he will probably win the White House. However, Murdoch stopped short of a full personal endorsement of Obama, saying he wanted to meet with him first. It is a fact, however, that his New York Post newspaper had already endorsed Obama as a "fresh face" in the Democratic presidential primaries, and Murdoch says that he was instrumental in arranging that.

The Republican strategy since Reagan, and it has been succesful, has been that if you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it. Karl Rove took it to a perfected art form. Their strategy is to instill fear, "He's not like you!" and to scare people into voting Republican or else their way of life will disappear. Not exactly an uplifting philosophy of life or the world, but hey, it wins elections.

America ‘Really’ Sucks
Michelle Obama “ first time I have ever been proud of American” now this Obama begins with a broad assessment of life in America “just downright mean,” we are “guided by fear,” we’re a nation of cynics, sloths, and complacent s.“We have become a nation of struggling folks who are barely making it every day,” she said, as heads bobbed in the pews.“Health care is out of reach (“Let me tell you, don’t get sick in America”), pensions are disappearing, college is too expensive, and even if you can figure out a way to go to college you won’t be able to recoup the cost of the degree. Is it surprise that Michelle’s speech is such an unrelenting downer “The life that I’m talking about that most people are living has gotten progressively worse since I was a little girl.... So if you want to pretend like there was some point over the last couple of decades when your lives were easy, I want to meet you!”

Obama presidency would mean for our national defense; slowing down of existing programs to build new weapons, cutting “tens of billions” of dollars in “wasteful” spending, scrapping missile defense completely, and setting up an “independent defense priority review board”(you can imagine the anti-defense liberals sitting on that board) to make sure we don’t waste any money building “unnecessary” weapons. Obama wishes “nuclear free world” and to that end, he will not allow any new designs for nukes nor will he build any new ones. He wants to talk to the Russians about re-targeting our missiles and “deep cuts” in our nuclear arsenal.(Russia invade Georgian and he wants to talk when we are weak and can not do nothing) In effect, Obama wants to gut the military to make sure we never go to war again. God forbid, where we would find it necessary to project our power to the far flung corners of the earth in order to protect Americans or American interests under an Obama presidency, I fear the military would be forced to tell him that it wouldn’t be possible. Obama is McGovern, Carter, and John Kerry all rolled into one when it comes to maintaining and improving our defenses. He would be a disaster as president.

Obama has said he is a team player. He can and will work across the isle. Now the real Obama has show is party a new side of himself. Harry Reid is begging Obama to throw some of his election cash his way but Obama, the team player and devout democrat he is, said NO! Obama isn’t exactly a team player. His campaign has been ‘unavailable’ when called to appear with Dem. Senatorial candidates. Democrats on Capitol Hill have grumbled for months that it has been hard to orchestrate campaign events and appearances with the Obama campaign. One Democratic strategist said the campaign frequently turns down requests to have Obama appear with a Democratic incumbent or challenger, and that the events that do happen come only after some “very heavy lifting The Dem. party should have read Obama and Biden’s tax returns, they’re both stingy. Over a ten year period Biden give as little as $2 per week to charity. The Obamas’ tax returns show that they gave 5.8%- 6.1% of their income to charity. The Dems giving compares very unfavorably to John McCain, whose tax returns show that, he gave 27.3%- 28.6% of his income to charity in 2006-2007. Perhaps the Obama-Biden campaign needs a new sloganIt’s need to say (me, myself and I the almighty can do it alone)

Sen. Obama as president,“we’ll ensure that economic justice is served,” he asserted.“That’s what this election is about.” Obama never spelled out the meaning of the term, but he didn’t have to. His audience knew what he meant, judging from its thumping approval. Economic justice” simply means punishing the successful and redistributing their wealth by government fiat. It’s a euphemism for socialism. But Obama’s is positioning himself with alarming stealth to put that rhetoric into action on a scale not seen since the birth of the welfare state. Obama also talks about “restoring fairness to the economy,” code for soaking the “rich”— a segment of society he fails to understand that includes mom-and-pop businesses filing individual tax returns. he assumes the economy is a fixed pie, whereby the successful only get rich at the expense of the poor. He believes government must step in and redistribute pieces of the pie. That requires massive transfers of wealth through government taxing and spending, a return to the entitlement days of old. He’s disguising the wealth transfers as “investments”—“to make America more competitive,” he says, or “that give us a fighting chance,” whatever that means. Among his proposed “investments”:•“Universal,”“gu aranteed” health care.•“Free” college tuition.•“Universal national service”(a la Havana).•“Universal 401(k)s”(in which the government would match contributions made by “low- and moderate-income families”).•“Free” job training (even for criminals).•“Wage insurance”(to supplement dislocated union workers’ old income levels).•“Free” childcare and “universal” preschool.• More subsidized public housing.• A fatter earned income tax credit for “working poor.”• And even a Global Poverty Act that amounts to a Marshall Plan for the Third World, first and foremost Africa. His new New Deal also guarantees a “living wage,” with a $10 minimum wage indexed to inflation; and “fair trade” and “fair labor practices,” with breaks for “patriot employers” who cow-tow to unions, and sticks for “nonpatriot” companies that don’t. That’s just for starters — first-term stuff. Obama doesn’t stop with socialized health care. He wants to socialize your entire human resources department — from payrolls to pensions. His social-microengineering even extends to mandating all employers provide seven paid sick days per year to salary and hourly workers alike. The seeds of his far-left ideology were planted in his formative years as a teenager in Hawaii — and they were far more radical than any biography or profile in the media has portrayed. A careful reading of Obama’s first memoir,“Dreams From My Father,” reveals that his childhood mentor up to age 18 — a man he cryptically refers to as “Frank”— was none other than the late communist Frank Marshall Davis, who fled Chicago after the FBI and Congress opened investigations into his “subversive,”“un-American activities.” he sat at Davis’ feet in his Waikiki bungalow for nightly bull sessions. Davis plied his impressionable guest with liberal doses of whiskey and advice, including: Never trust the white establishment.. go finish reading the story..http://www.bigmouthfrog .org/2008/09/17/barack-obamas- stealth-socialism/
