Although I recently moved up here from the lower 48, I've noticed that while commuting around town, some locals are steadily riding on my bumper despite my driving appropriately for the road conditions.

I'm no stranger to ice and snow; rather I respect it, and have driven in conditions far harsher than most people in KTN could only imagine. I used to drive an 18 wheeler across all the lower 48 and Canada, so I'm no stranger to winter road conditions.

Point being, if you're in such a hurry to get somewhere, then perhaps you should have left your previous location at an earlier and more appropriate time instead of riding not only my bumper, but other peoples bumper as well in order to get to your destination on time in a safe and timely manner.

I've been driving personally and professionally for over 33 years without any accidents, or tickets, and I don't intend to start receiving tickets on this island because some locals are in a hurry, and think that they can "push" the other driver faster by riding their bumper... It's not going to happen if you're behind me.

Granted, 95% of the drivers on this island are courteous and patient, but the other 5, or so percent give or take, make a normal ride down any of our streets a nightmare for those of who drive accordingly to the conditions of the roads.

Slow down and drive accordingly, and more importantly, leave in plenty of time in which to reach your destination alive, and without causing undue stress upon the driver in front of your, and most importantly… yourself.
