Evil will grow unchecked if good people simply do nothing.
What's she supposed to do, say he looked at me funny. When people warn in this society they are called crazy, negative, damaged and closed minded and told not to judge. No one would have listen to this woman.

How about "I think something is up with that guy" or "I thought the BSA did not allow homosexual leaders?" Or simply say to another parent "I am not sticking around, there is something not right with that guy". Other parents would have taken note and started to watch his actions more closely.

I am sure she is a good person...but she said nothing and evil prevailed.

Ultimately, I blame the PC crowd. We have been made so afraid to speak up when we see something wrong for fear of being called a hate monger. We must all find our courage muscle and stand tall in the face of evil and tell those who would call us hate mongers and intolerant to simply go to hell.

It may not be that simple. Sometimes you get a gut feeling that a person is shady or might do something to a child. What can you do with that? You can't do anything without evidence. So think before you point fingers.

Okay, in that vein. Your rants strike me as being a bit extreme. You're giving me a creepy feeling. Maybe I should speak up and start telling people!!! Something's not right with you.

When you have been abused in this way it is a life changing thing. You never forget. Most of the time the abuser will threaten the child. Having been abused myself as a child I understand the victom not speaking out sooner. I never told. NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO TAKE THE INNOCENT OF A CHILD :-(

I agree, innocent until proven guilty. The questionI have, if it really happened, why would someone wait all these years to come forward....

No mistake made. The man gave me his card along with with troop leader for that area!
I have dates and time I went with my son for the 1st meeting as he was invited by a friend. Based on my interaction with this man, I chose NOT to have my son attend that group and yes, he was very involved with the group and was going on a camping trip that weekend and asked my son to go. So I will not stop speaking about the stony point area scouts, he was there and involved! Enough said.

Thanks,

="Stony Point Parent"]Please keep the Stony Point scouts and the Stony Point Ruritan out of this discussion. This man volunteered with the Keswick Troop - which also shouldn't have to suffer because of the disgusting acts of one person. Rest assured that all BSA parents are horrified about this. Prayers go out to the victims and their families. NO I have it rightf! He was there that night, I have his card still in hand I have the date and time. He was there. Sorry it was Stony Point area
Enough said

I knew him back then. I was in a different troop but the worst thing is the kids from his troop only talked about how cool he was. He let his boyscouts watch porn at his house and that's why they said he was awesome, but I think he meant to do that to eventually to seduce his troop boys. My bestfriend was in his troop before he moved and I'm just happy now he did. Sick freaks like that deserve jail.
