I remember the ending days of radio, just before TV wiped it out. In some ways it was better than TV, because your imagination provided the people, places, and other details. The only thing the radio provided was the story and the dialogue. Do you remember the transparent plastic sheet to put over the black and white picture. It was tinted blue on top, pink in the center, and green on the bottom. That was in the early 60s I think.
My uncle and aunt had one of those! It was the ugliest thing I ever saw.

I love radio. I used to be a big Howard Stern fan for they kept the show up for 4 hours doing bits and little plays, etc. They began airing the radio show on TV and it was hugely disappointing and seeing them just sitting there killed the illusion of theater of the mind.

Aww. I had a pet duck growing up and she laid a nice big egg every day. The older lady across the street was a vigorous baker and would use one egg instead of two chicken eggs and everyone raved over the freshness of the flavors.

What a lovely Easter surprise for you that morning.

Gotta say it was pretty cool. Interesting story about that lady using duck eggs for baking.

Was it one of those stunning wild ducks, or a cute white Peking duck?

It was one of the mallard ducks that lives on the pond nearby. My cats have a lot of fun chasing them and the geese, and watching them take off.
