This year is an election year for Walnut Cove. Commissioner Mitchell and Mayor Lewis are up for reelection, and so is Sharon Conaway.

I am going to start this discussion by making two guarantees:

1. If the voters of Walnut Cove let themselves be fooled into electing Sharon Conaway again, or if they elect someone else who supports her agenda, there is no hope for this town to get any better; in fact, things will get even worse.

2. If that happens, I won't say "I told you so".

It is time to take your town back. Who will run?

I agree Cove Historian, surely Sharon Conaway won't get back into office. Who would elect her again, she is only off for herself. She has no interest in bettering our town. She only wants revenge for her husband.

I do hope Mayor Lewis gets back in office. He seems to have common sense which is what we have been missing for a long time in Walnut Cove. He seems to have the town's best interest in his decision making process unlike Sharon and her buddy Elwood.

How do you say he has the towns best intrest, when he deliberately has kept the old hotel from being torn down so he can work with the Deharts behind the scenes to get it given to them. Im not for Sharon, but if you are going to tell the truth, then tell the whole truth. He is a snake, the only difference is a snake bites you when you walk up to it. He bites you when you turn around.

How can he give the Dehart's something that they already owned? Read the paper, the Deharts have given it to the town.

I was referring to "them" being the Town. Not the opposite way around.

The word is that once again the town is looking at doing away with the PD, and going with the Sheriff's Office. If it is a cost savings, I say lets go for it. It apparrently works in Walkertown, Lewisville, Clemmons, & Rural Hall. Maybe some crime would get solved if they did versus riding around in a Pimp Mobile.

I guess that means no more city taxes, no need for town manager, mayor, or town commissioners........good idea. Hope you don't have kids that go to school in Walnut Cove because the SCSD has refused to direct traffic.

You're wrong True! The agreement clearly states that the County will direct traffic. The Town Hall will still be there along with the Manager and City Council. If you need to know or learn more about local politics, then I think you should. The only thing that will change is that you won't have those dumbasses that ride around Walnut Cove, wear a badge, and call themselves Police Officers and don't do a damn thing to help this town. It's the worst I've ever seen it. Do away with the shit down there and get Marshall in it NOW!
YES YES YES

Looks like the Queen of Walnut Cove has decided to run for re-election. I hope the voters vote her out so fast it makes her head spin.

We need somebody else to run besides the ones that have signed up. They get worse as they go along. Right now she looks better than the others that have filed and that isn't saying much. Filing ends the 19th I think. Come on people there has to be somebody out there that really cares about Walnut Cove..

Filing for this election ends at 12:00 TODAY. We have the worst slate of Candidates we have ever had. The only good one that has filed is Lynn Lewis for Mayor. All 3 that have filed for the Board are not filing for the best interest of the town. Somebody please in the next hour and a half get to Danbury and file. Natalie Smiley and Chad Williams were both strong proponents for the Police Dept. and will be working against the county the whole time they are in office if elected. And of course we know what Sharron is about.... We are doomed if somebody that really cares about our town and is smart enough to lead us in the right direction doesn't file....

So true Brightside, we've had enough of people looking for vindication. The town is finally seeing some changes taking place. We need people to continue to help Mayor Lewis move us out of the doom we've been in for way to long.

Yes indeed we need support for Mayor Lewis and to make sure he remains as the voice of reason for the Town. What we don't need is any one of the 3 running for town board. All 3 are a joke that would only bring more doom to the board. I know both of the 2 new ones running and they are a bad thought to be faced with. I keep thinking what in the world can we do to keep them from getting in and the only thing I can think of is to do enough write in's to eliminate them and Sharon. Any ideas anyone.. We need a miracle..

I think Chad and Natalie can be good for our Town. I wouldn't vote for Sharon for dog catcher.

I wouldn't vote for Sharon for dog catcher either but I wouldn't vote for Natalie for garbage collector either. You must not know her very well..Chad is running for revenge.. He really should go get a job... We don't need anymore revenge board members.. Not good for the town.
Go forward Walnut Cove

Word is that Sharon talked both Natalie and Johnny Wooten into running for office. Guess she thinks if she can get rid of Mayor Lewis and get her group in she'll be back in control. She's pretty bold thinking she's going to still be there herself. Definitely not what Walnut Cove needs. Everybody get out and vote against her.
