WAYNE COUNTY, W.Va.(WSAZ)-- Police have made an arrest in what they now say was a murder that happened in Wayne County.

West Virginia State Police say James Ward, 62, of Crum, was found dead at his home on Jennies Creek late Wednesday afternoon.

Sgt. A.L. Cummings tells WSAZ.com that Kentucky State Police arrested James Marcum, 35, of Crum, W.Va., on a fugitive from justice warrant just hours after WardÂ’s body was discovered.

Marcum was picked up at a hospital in eastern Kentucky Wednesday evening where he was being treated for unspecified injuries that Cummings says could be the result of an altercation with the victim..

Cummings says Ward possibly died as the result of a stabbing or blunt force trauma. State Police are awaiting autopsy results for the exact cause of death. He also says the two men knew each other.

It was Jamie's dad, Jim Ward. They arrested James Marcum (Pappy's son), last night. My thoughts & prayers go out to the Ward family. May God bless them in this sorrowful time.
