If you know the truth you should know how to spell(hale).George Hale the owner was Babe Hales brother thus Louie Hales uncle.Talk too Charlie Burchett he is the man to talk to about the early history of Kermit.

You know I never knew there was a Funeral Home in Kermit, W.Va. I do remember Richmond Akers, use to sell Casket's, or kept them stored upstair's over the store.Dad use to go pick them up ,when there was a death in the community, and not taken to a funeral Home. That was late 40's & early 50'S
Was there a Hale's funeral Home in Williamson at one time?,I do remember hearing of one somewhere down that way, keep us informed of your imfo. just curious,

Yes there was another funeral home in Kermit. It was out the st. where Bill Sluder lived and grew up on.It would have been near where the Pharmacy is today. The original house and funeral parlor was destroyed in the 77 flood.Lot of history was wiped out in tug valley at that time.I am only 60 and remember this. You need too talk too some of the older people of Kermit that are in their 70's or older.Kermit was a good place to live and raise your children in 40's and 50's.It reminds me of Mayberry, without barney and gomer.Fun times I will never forget!
