So, I'm on here, and I'm reading what some people have put about Kermit, and it makes my heart frown. I've lived in Kermit and Wink all of my almost 30 years, and can say that it has never looked better. No, I'm not from the so called "Glory Days", but I can say, I've been here long enough to see that Kermit is not the run down, hell hole of a wreck everyone seems to think it is. In the last few months, not only has the football field been revamped, but so has the Sonic. New business have been opened downtown by individuals as well as a nail salon being opened, and an Old Time Fillin Station. The hospital has also had a facelift, as well as some cosmetic surgery, and spankin new equipment to fill it with. Purple Sage has also been made over.
Show me a town/city that doesn't have run down, trashy, unlived, only being held up by termite feces houses, or wrecked, rusty, sittin there rotting cars, and I'll show you the PERFECT town. I think I can trust that that town doesn't exist.
No, the 79745 is not what it was in the "Glory Days" but there again, what town is? We're living in the 21st century here. 2009 is here and in full effect, things change, times evolve, and nothing stays the same. You honestly didn't expect Wackers to be here forever did you?

I wouldnt move to Kermit, there are families there who have children in surrounding towns they dont even talk too but the children are related to them. I have been in Dallas now for years but I will never forget the scandals that use to go on with some of them there!

Scandals live in every small town -- nothing new there. Kermit is what people there make it. I've always found it to be a friendly place with lovely people. I would recommend that the city council get to work tearing down the abandoned buildings and homes there that will never be usable again. Clear the buildings and perhaps someone will be interested in building new there again.

yes and all these things just cost us tax payers lots and lots of money.... and it use to be a great place but now it is a nasty trashy hellhole, and it is way beyond being able to be changed now at any point....the corrupt, and drugs have taken over this town, and i have lived in both places as well, kermit, and wink....not too excited about either...

Gasoline Alley, What a joke. Constantly they work on cars under the awning blocking the gas pumps. You sit and wait for service. Good Luck. Doing business with
the family operated place, is like being there last customer and it's you that will save their day and pay their rent or light bill. Have you ever been stuck on a rural road and need gas. You need the gas and the man that has it wants 50 bucks for five gallons. Doing Business with Gasoline Alley is that analogy. It's good Karma exist. What a bunch of Monkeys!

It's Funny The Old Time screwin' Station. That hillbilly jerk doesn't have a clue how easy it is to buy and sell lively hood. Your Best bet is go down the street and pump your own gas.

I THINK ABOUT ALL THE ABANDONED HOUSES AND BUILDINGS THAT ARE IN THIS TOWN ....I THINK THEY ,SHOULD BE GIVEN AWAY TO SOMEONE THAT WILL USE THEM INSTEAD OF JUST LETTING THEM SIT THERE AND ROTT... THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE LOOKING FOR A HOUSE ,OR BUILDING IN NEED FOR ANOTHER BUSINESS ...AND YES HOSPITAL IS BEAUTIFUL BUT WHAT GOOD DOES IT DO IF WE HAVE A BEAUTIFUL "COUNTY HOSPITAL"IF THEY WONT GET YOU UNLESS IF ITS AN EMERGENCY AND YOU HAVE INSURANCE.....:(
