Hi. I live in Shetland a small wind swept island in the northern North Sea 100 miles north of the UK mainland. Just wondering what life is like in Kermit? It looks warm!

Hi Ian. Yes it is warm in Kermit. I lived there for 18 years. It's home to me. People that travel through Kermit tend not to notice the beauty because it's mostly desert scrub and dirt and dust. It can get very windy and the dirt flying through the air can hurt. I love West Texas however. I'm living in North Texas now and I love it, but it'll never come up to home in my oppinion.

Hiya. Cool to hear back from some one so far away! I have family in the Dallas and Fort Worth area and visited when I was younger and had a great time in Texas. We drove down to San Antonio to meet Ed's son who was serving in the army down there (we visited the Alamo and then had burritas by the river!). I loved the trip, it was so different to the countryside in England. That is why I liked Kermit when I saw it on street view. It reminded me of the trip. It might look like desert scrub to others but Shetland might look like a barren wind swept rock as well!(plus rain, hail and snow lashed in just for fun). How did you find it growing up in Kermit?
