Is Plastech in Kenton Tn closing?

I would run and not walk to look for another job, don't buy into this story of pulling back out of it. Kenton is too broken down to being pulled back up, it will be closed, along with Franklin.I would not beleive a word from the Browns. Look around the shop. It is far to old and broken for a bankrupt company to put any money into it. Hope and pray for a new company to buy it but the browns have run it into the ground, it will be hard to find a buyer for such a crapped out shop. They made $$ and now they will cut and run. Julie and Jim have never given one ounce of caring toward ANY of thier workers, no matter how far up you are in the co. unless you are in thier inner circle. Unless you spend time at thier home and go on vacation with them you are out.

Yes the plant is run down, the roof leaks all over the plant,no heating .I think they was told cut off the heaters in the warehouse and our used to be finishing department, some bathrooms have heat some don't.No hot water to wash our hands, just cold water. it has run down since Plastech taken over ,I work there long before they did,Bryan Custom Plastics. It was a great place to work now since the Browns took over we have gone down hill. Our crew went in to work today, not knowing what out futures hold. We're not giving up not,til one day the door be lock for good.Too all Plastech employees good luck.

When this woman aquired Bryan Custom Plastics, She played her female minority trump card to it's limit. I must wonder what all those minority based government grants and loans were really used for? It sure wasn't for all the loyal employees freezing their behinds off in a run down, unheated facility. Could it be hidden away and used to fund her lawyer husbands law firm and his career? Makes you wonder.

Kenton is a good place to live . The plastech plant does not reflect what the town is like .The plant just got this way after Plastech bought it from Bryan Custom Plastic .

The list in not posted anywhere, it is in the rumor mill. That being said it has been on the list for several months to close. People in the industry know it will be closed. The Browns would never be honest and allow the employees that knowledge, they want you to stay to until the bitter end of closing shop. That way you keep it afloat. Several plants will close, Kenton being one. I have heard Franklin and Shreveport also. Shevport has a chance of getting bought, it is a newer clean facility. But the union will probably keep it from being bought. wages are too high.Kenton is a good town. You should apply for other factory in the area now. She does not care about you only money. she ran it into the ground. Franklin is in the falling down state as kenton. She had almost 10 years to fix these plants and did not. She knew they were dilapetated, she made her money and will bail. Don't ride the ship down is my advice. Even if chrysler bails her out it chrysler will not put money into a plant where the roof leaks and is unsafe. chrlsyer runs a clean operation, they won't touch these falling down broken presses. There should be a law that fines people like the browns for making thier employees work in a sweathsiop condition. Julie has never cared about kenton she made her money and will bail. She has abused her minority status in the industry. She will keep a few plants that are newer and non union, and closer to Detriot.

We all agree we need change and plants closeing everywhere is the fault of the goverment for the most part giveing our jobs away to other counties and allowing unsafe products into this country made by cheap labor. This country is being taken over from the inside and we are just sitting back and doing nothing about it. Now we are fixing to elect a prez and looks like it will be either some one that will raise taxes and allow even more
non tax payers cross the border. There will be change allright it will be either a woman or a black but I can promise you it wont be any better.Because you wont even have a gun to protect yourself look at his voteing record in IL. All the cheap labor and drain on the health system will be allowed to stay in this country. And nothing will change other than a new prez that will give away even more of this country an we will loose even more of our freedoms. There will be evn more Kentons all over the country like has been happening for years and it wont change with the bunch they will take over.

I agree the northern people have more opportnity to get manufacturing jobs. West TN has very very few. This woman had every intent of get rich and get out. There are still a handful of corporations that will take care of thier employees but those are few and far between, the days of when our parents worked 40 years and retired from ONE place is gone. Do your homework when applying for jobs. Kenton people can drive to Dyersburg, Union City and even Jackson. It will be a strain on gasoline prices but a good employee will find something else. Take heart for these people, there are people pulling for you in the community who want to see families stronger. Julie Brown has never been one of those people. The stress of Plastech is the worse of any factory in the area. Ask any people who have left it in the last few years and ask them they will tell you there is another life out there for you. You just have to go and get it. In fact your lives will probably be lengthened when you leave for something better. Kenton is an UNSAFE environment. Old broken presses and a building that is falling down. No hot water?? How primitive is that? It is like working in a 3rd world county.Hopefully she will get out of the business and take hre money and stop pretending at being a business woman.
