Too bad you can't decide between the cheap ones and the ones that actually hold things within them. Sucks to be forced to buy an item that is pure junk. Would be nice to know that the 5 BAGS that I paid 3$ FOR would actually resist tearing when not even half way full.

You'd think we could get a quality product for hard earned $$.

F**k it, I guess.

If the city wants to bring jobs to Kenton and collect taxes from a local business, they should keep the trash collection local; instead of outsourcing the jobs to Bellefontaine or Lima operators. Let LOCAL refuse service providers operate in the the city (to residential, not just businesses)and let the citizens of Kenton CHOOSE their service provider (and trash bags) of choice. I know of several LOCAL men and women who lost their jobs when the city decided to outsource the waste mangement.

Another topic that is related; How many people GIVE away their cans and recyclables to Waste Management when they could be taking the items to a recycling center and get paid themselves by the weight?

A lot do White. Some don't realize what they can get money back on, and some don't want to waste time doing it. Pop-cans, soup style cans, aluminum foil, basically anything metal can be turned in for money. Some worth more than others obviously.

In my house the Kenton Bags hold up just fine. Because we seperate all of the recyclable (sp) from the trash. On our trash night I find it funny just how many people have pizza, soda, etc type boxes sticking out the sides of their Kenton bags. All of which could have been broken down and put into the recycle bins. Saving space in the bag for more trash, and saving money from not having to use so many bags.

I wish we had a choice, but since we don't I do everything to save as much money on Bags as possible.

hmmmm,

If you look it up, you would probably be surprised at what you can put into the recycle bins vs. putting them in the trash. My family went from 3 to 5 bags a week down to 1 to 3 (also a big family). I know the more I learn about what I can recyle, put on freecycle, etc the more I save.

The petition needs to go to the County Commissioners, not the city. The Commissioners are on the Waste District Board.

I'd like to see Kenton have a yard waste site.
Bellefontaine does.
At least let us bag yard waste ( leaves, twigs, dead plants, etc )in a recyclable bag - again modeled after what Bellefontaine offers.
Their yard waste is mulched or chipped (if branches) and the mulch/chips are available for use by residents.

I also agree with other post about keeping the waste hauler local such as using SV & E. We had them for years out in the 'countryside' and loved their service.

I absolutely do NOT throw anything at all that I can recycle. As far as aluminum goes, the WM is NOT getting it. I give it to a friend as I don't have any way of not stinking my vehicle up hauling it.

MY original point was that the bags bought at WAL-MART, that I'm forced to use, don't stick up to even the smallest of nicks like a Glad does. If I have to buy them, they should be quality.

And I'm all about screwing the city on a petition for trash pickup.....sign me up.

1.save up a shit load of cans.take them to Michigan and get 10 cents a can.i do it 2-3 times a year.
2.make a silk screen.and print KENTON on your own white trash bags.
3.harvest copper wire and pipes from "places"
4.use a magnetic card reader to scan walmart gift cards.then check numbers daily for activation.

yes waste management owned by the mob, not far off.we know the city is corrupt, look at the watwe and sewage costs its time they start laying off workers instead of steeling our money. other people in other cities get their garbage hauld through the water rates.
