You got me hooked, by your love the very first time.
And now I lead a life of crime.
Everyone says it is death do us part.
Please let me stop, before I break another heart.
Someday I will leave you and say goodbye.
I just hope it is not a lie.
You can go and find another one to prey on, I wont care.
Because it all started with just one dare.
For those in need, please get help

those who use heroin for the first time simply do not realize they are destroying their entire lifetime on this earth, as short as that life may turn out to be. I don't know the answer to heroin, I'm not even sure what the question is.

wish there was help

I'm sure we could find ways to help if we took the time to ask recovering addicts what it was that helped them the most. Those who have or are recovering are the best ones to give advice.
But we'll never ask them because god forbid we give them credit for smarts.

Once you use heroin, even just that first time, you are a heroin addict for life. You may be able to stop using the drug for periods of time during your life, but you will always be addicted to heroin. That is the simple brutal fact about heroin that there is no argument about. There is no "recovery" past stopping the use of the drug for a period of time. It is sad, but it is what it is. The whole "recovery" suggestion lets those who first try it think they have a way out of the addiction, but that is not true at all. Once you are on it, you are always wanting it, forever, until you die, period.

you know JUST ME i think you brought up a valid point, i dont know why everyone is marking it NUTS.. why not let the wisdom of the ones that are clean, help the one still caught up in its grip? its a scary thought to fight fire with fire, but think about it, its done all the time. I think people are just too afraid to be " guilty by association " to listen to some of these EX users ? thoughts ?

I've seen people who had decent lives with good supportive families desttroyed by this drug. Incredibly sad.
#8 Nov 6, 2011
the sad part is its like any other addiction different stuff works for different ppl like one person can set it down no problems another has to substatute it with candy or something!
#9 Nov 6, 2011
That is exactly what I meant. People who have never used have NO clue what it takes to want to come clean, to come clean, or what helps.
I have never used myself, so I personally have no clue. Sure I have ideas on what may or may not work, but the person who has the biggest insight as to what would work, is a former user. So why not ask them?
any one mentioned something that is valid a well "everything doesn't work for everyone" which is true. But as of right now, we really don't have a base to start from.
Asking users what works and what doesn't work gives a base line to start from.
Ever tried dieting? To lose weight? Think of it kind of like that. When someone wants to lose weight they themselves or their doctor will start with the base. The base being probably diet and/or food intake, sure it doesn't work for EVERYONE to have that as a first step, but it works often enough to be the first step.
With users we really don't have a first step outside of putting them in jail. I'm not saying jail doesn't work, but from reading our paper it doesn't work well enough.

OHIO DRUG REHABILITATION CENTERS
Ohio drug rehabilitation centers can be very difficult to find when looking for the right one. There are many centers throughout the state, offering a wide variety of treatment methods. Some Ohio drug rehabilitation programs are best for treating multiple drug addictions such as heroin, Oxycontin and crack/cocaine, others specialize in a dual diagnosis program. Many drug rehabs use multi phased treatment and detox approaches such as medical drug detoxification or nutritional-based methods and some incorporate a cognitive or spiritual-based drug rehab emphasis such as a Christian drug rehab program, which have the highest success rates vs. other non Christian rehabilitation centers.
The goal of every drug and alcohol rehab program should be to cure the addiction, but each drug or alcohol addiction case is different depending on the individual and his or her condition. Therefore, it is essential to find the right drug treatment center, amongst the many that exist, that will deliver the best results for the patient the first time and end the cycle of drug addiction.

Some will not seek treatment because they have warrants for crimes they did to feed their habit. I have a family member who "vanished" because of this. They are afraid if they seek help they will end up in jail. I pray for their safety and arrest with rehab.

How much do these drug centers cost? I've never actually seen one of these centers in person, but have seen them on t.v. those centers look kind of expensive to go to. Users aren't normally raking in the dough, and what they are raking in they are turning around and buying for their own habits.

I am an ex-heroin user, but was once a junkie and I'll be forever addicted. I ended up going to jail and kicking there even before I made it to the Worth Center. Getting locked up and subsequently hitting my bottom isnt normally looked at as a high point in anyones life but I am forever grateful because that happened to me. I agree that past users, ex addicts or what ever you want to call us indeed have a better insight on this subject...but this drug has to be dealt with differently for each individual,I had lost my family and friends for this drug and it didnt bother me, for me it was jail and the W.C (say what you want about this place, if you want to kick and be clean the W.C will give you the tools, they wont do it for you but they certainly can help.)Its not easy but it can be done. I was addicted to opiates for 7 years, pills first then heroin, I have been clean since march 2010. I may not have all the answers, noone does but for the families that are dealing with addiction or anyone if you have any questions I will try my best to give you a better insight into the mind of someone addicted to the epidemic that is in this town.

Thank you very much hidden. It takes true courage to put that out there, and to be willing to help.

I gave birth to you so long ago.
I raised you up,and helped you grow,
I kissed your boo boos, and wiped your nose,
I stayed up late at nites and kissed your toes
Now your grown and out on your own,
Roaming the streets messed up and stoned.
Not seeing one thing you have blown.
Your job family friend that once belonged,
You spend your days in a disgrace
Making up storys to get ur next lace,
Lieing and stealing is now taken place
Leaving your children for someone to raise.
I have serched my heart and tried to find
One single reason you would want to decline
Leaving your self for a life of crime.
Beg, borrow, steal, and lie all the time.
Lifes full of heart ache and pain, that i know
But lossing control isnt the way to go,
Shooting a hit and passing out,
Leaving your self to all that dought.
Not knowing what happen where or when
Living your life in all that sin.
Lost in your self and full of shame,
Slowly dieing in a worthless game.

THAT IS AWSOME. I AM A MOTHER OF TWO HEROINE ADDICTED CHILDREN AND AM RAISING MY GRANDKIDS. I CURRENTLY HAVE A CHILD IN RECOVERY AND ONE INCARCERATED. I PRAY TO GOD HE HELPS MY CHILDREN THROUGH. THAT DRUG IS SUCH A EVIL DRUG. I AM NOT TRYING TO MAKE EXCUSES FORTHE USERS BUT, WE ALL NEED TO LOOK AT THIS AS A ILLNESS. I PRAY THAT THE KIDS IN OUR COMMUNITY LEARN TO DEAL WITH THE PEER PRESSURES AND EVILS OF TODAY. GOD BLESS ALL

I am sorry about Brian. I am a ex addict who knew him and have met you once or twice. What saved me was Jesus Christ. No rehab or twelve step program just freedom as Matt. 11:28 promises all who come. I have buried 7 of my best friends so I do know what loss is from this epedemic. I have seen more fathers and mothers lives destroyed by this drug than any other. I tried to reach Brian on three different occasions but he wouldn't listen. He told me there was no God and then he laughed at me but you and I both know he privately thought different. I know I will never see him again and that sucks because I will always remember his sense of humor. I hope you and the rest of your family find peace and healing in this tragedy he has put you all thru.
