Nobody should buy a puppy from a breeder.
This just perpetuates the puppy mill trade.

Check the dog pound and get a dog who is already in need of a good home. An adult dog is easier to train and won't chew up things like a puppy. You can bond just as well with a grown dog as you could with a puppy, if it is in your heart.

You cant tell what kind of dog you get out of the pound a grown dog can turn on you or your child why take the chance. Getting a puppy you know how there raised.

Thats why you re-train a dog that you get from the shelter.

The poster "Rover" did not say he wanted a puppy for his children.
Every situation is different, but the majority of people who want to adopt can find a nice dog at the Hardin County Dog Shelter. All dogs take work training them and being consistent or unruly behaviors may occur. It all depends on the owner. Dr. Kinnison DVM once told me, "A dog is only as smart as his owner."

But the forum dose not say just any dog its pitbull puppy's. Dont get me wrong i love pitbulls and pitbulls are very good dogs.If you get one that is trained the wrong way you will get hurt or your love ones may. The reson you find most dogs in the pound is because the owners are dumb as a box of rocks and they cant take care of them beating not feeding them thinking there so cute when there puppys then they grow up then they get rid of them yes its sad.

Check out "Hardin County Dog Shelter" on facebook and they will have photos of the dogs who are up for adoption. Sometimes it tells if they are strays or owner surrenders. Also sometimes it tells about their background or if they have some training.

Even if the dogs come from stupid owners, don't rule them out as not being trainable. Just because the owners are stupid doesn't mean that the dogs are stupid.

Because pitbulls are the white trash of the dog community.

For every puppy that is born by a breeder or "accidentally," a dog or puppy is euthanized (killed) at a shelter or pound. Puppies can be purchased at a shelter, too. They have all ages and breeds there for a very good price.

People should quit breeding puppies. There are too many homeless dogs and the problem won't get any better until the supply is shut down.
QUIT BREEDING.
