What do y'all think about Kenton City Schools demanding the FB passwords of district teachers? I think it would be more interesting than a drug screen, which would be berry interesting.

Why come on here and not read what I wrote, correctly? It's a proposition. I wonder what the words "I THINK IT WOULD BE MORE INTERESTING" mean? WOULD BE!!! If I was stating a current fact, I probably would have said "WOW THAT'S INTERESTING".

Now that I think of it, URFULLOFSTUPID. I wrote "would be" twice in the first post.

I can see why the other poster was confused by your question. That first line makes it sound like you are asking us what we think about them having to give up their passwords like it has already happened. But that would be interesting. The pictures alone on some of their pages are embarrassing. I would never post pictures of me hanging all over people sloppy drunk when kids are on my friends list.

I think it's BS. I don't think ANY employer has a right to their employee's facebook password. They should be welcome to check the website and take action if need be. But forcing someone to give up their password as a condition of employment is nonsense.

I can see your point, on the other hand, I see mine. This site is called Topix and this is a relevant topic. Right now this is a big issue in parts of the country. I think of all people, the teachers would be the ones to try this idea out on. Traditionally they are supposed to be Lily white, in reality, some of them are Scarlet Letter Red. When I was in school, we had teachers having affairs and behaving poorly. Now, I hear we have drugs, alcohol, and a failure to grow up and act like an adult.

I wasn't saying its not relevant. I think it is a great debatable topic. unfortunately like every good discussion someone will become frustrated because they don't know how to articulate their point or someone will disagree then the ignorance, name calling and personal attacks will start. But I agree with you mostly. I think if their Facebook is with absolutely no one under 18 on it there is no need to monitor it. But the minute you add students then post something inappropriate you should be held accountable. But I feel this way for everyone's Facebook. A kid was suspended for something he tweeted at 2:30am from home? I don't agree with this but i guess that is kind of a double standard on my part.

White Rabbit,I didn't mean to imply that you didn't think it was relevent. The first sentence should have been its own paragraph. Then, the relevence was the second paragraph. The topix machine tends to cram sentences together, unless you do something about it. Sometimes I forget to triple space.

I was going on with the second paragraph to let urfullofcrap know why I was posting the original post. Because it's a relevent topic. So for now, I'm blaming the topix machine on cramming the two paragraphs together. Right? Wink wink.

Well there are certain professions that require certain professionalsm. And being a teacher is 1 of them. Do I agree he77 no, but they chose the job and knew the quirks that came with it.

I think the school should have the password if the teacher is adding students to their friends list. However the school shouldn't have access to the teachers personal facebook, twitter, or w.e
