I wondered if something was up. Used to live by someone who bought a place from him and they said they were paying $800/month. Not that it couldn't be accurate but I live in Delaware county (which isn't cheap) and my mortgage and property tax is that a month and I think my place is worth a lot more!

Why is everyone so anxious to jump on bad news. I'll be praying for him and his family. Everyone makes mistakes and we all hate to have to pay the consequences. Why should we rejoice when someone else gets into a bad situation? I don't want to be his judge. That job is way out of my pay class thankfully.

I can't pull up the Kenton Times article online so I was reading the blurb on WKTNs website. It almost made it sound like the buyers were in on some of them. I'm sorry, but IF he is guilty of this and the buyers were in on it too, why aren't they going after them?

For those of you who are all happy about the situation, your just upset because someone was ahead of you in life. I have worked for him and contracted for many of his homes, never once was i ripped off or anyone i told to buy a home from him, they are all happy, and this is 7 people and counting. He has never done to ANYONE what Wingfield has done to countless people and yet no one is after wingfield, the biggest ripoff in the state of Ohio. How about Jeff burroker, also a criminal in so many ways. You people are so quick to judge because the MEDIA had something to say, which is 99% of the time edited, nothing truly accurate. Everything they say or put in papers is for the purpose of selling papers. Please, know your facts before you bash someone. And what is it to you to bring up his faith? That is none of your business.

Look, when you give the potential home owner the down payment, then sell the house to them above market value to recoup the money you gave the...is against the law. Plus, it is f%^&($# over a person in need or could never have gotten a loan on their own without Phil's help.
This is just the tip of the iceberg. The other local realtors have shunned him for years having known this.
Don't you just hate it when somebody comes along and blows you out of the water with simple facts?

I would like to add, this is not just local charge such as writing a bad check. This is a Federal crime involving the FBI, which has been investigated for some time. Everybody knew (You should have as well Chris), it was just a matter of time.

That is interesting, u know, when i first turned 18, i already had horrible credit, and no one stole my identity and there were no loans, everyone starts LOW. The people i sent to him, did not have the down payment, but yet, yrs later still have the house and almost never miss the mortgage payment....Hrmmm. What he did may have been illegal for a person, but i see banks do the exact same damn thing all time. They defer the down payment to the end of the loan, i know because it was done for me....is it still illegal now? Not only did they recoup their costs, but even more in interest. You know what else, if you cannot afford the loan, you are the retard who asked for his help, so who is the moron? Why is loaning someone money illegal if he stands to get a return on it, do you not invest in stocks hoping for a return? Banks loan to people to get money, is it still illegal? Simple facts huh? I don't think you know enough about how business works. Btw, i'm not family, i have known him for years through someone else. He never screwed anyone, he had an opportunity to help some people who otherwise would be living off welfare like 99% of the rats in Kenton or out at the manor, so what if he made his money back. That is good business, everyone i know is satisfied, why aren't you? I have bought tons of houses and flipped them and made 75% or more on my investment almost every time, and yet, none of those houses i sold are under bankruptcy or foreclosure or falling apart. I made money by doing business, was i wrong? I think you need to study a little bit on business practices, COMMON BUSINESS PRACTICES AND LOAN PRACTICES, before u go blowing anyone out of the water, you might just end up in the water yourself.

Did you know that the FBI have investigated and are still investigating KPD and Mr bailey? This has been going on for years, but nothing will ever happen. Atleast admit that his efforts were made to assist others who the banks would discriminate against. I help people all the time, yes i loan money, yes i charge interest, sometimes people just need a push in the right direction.
