I like the pictures... but i know we have some missing people in this list!

Convicted Drug Traffickers

Almost everyday you can pick up the local newspaper and read the police and court blotter and note someone being arrested for a drug related crime. Our County is fighting in, what sometimes seems, a never ending war on drugs. Heroin, in particular, is ruining the lives of families throughout Ohio, as was recently documented in the New York Times. The Times article demonstrates that the abuse of Heroin in our communities has grown rapidly over recent years and has proven to have deadly consequences. Our local law enforcement agencies are working tirelessly to get drugs and offenders off the streets of our neighborhoods, but they need the help of the community.

I am often asked if there is a listing somewhere of individuals who have been convicted of Trafficking in Drugs, much like the existing Sex Offender Registry, so that citizens might be aware of who their neighbors are and the dangers they may pose. With that request in mind, my office has created the following list of convicted Drug Traffickers. All of these individuals have been convicted by the Hardin County Court of Common Pleas. If you suspect someone of using or selling drugs, please contact law enforcement--do not attempt to handle the situation on your own as these individuals are often dangerous.

Just because these people were once convicted of a drug related crime, doesn't mean they need to be profiled for the rest of their lives by people like you!!!!!!!!!! If the people listed have done their time and managed to stay out of trouble than they should be left alone, their debt to society has been paid!

First of all their crime is a matter of public record. Secondly the reason it is public record is so that people know they have been convicted in the past. If people don't want to be profiled by their past record they can petition the court to have it sealed or expunged. As long as it's public record the people have a right to know and discuss it.

So just because a person who is a registered sex offender has done their time, you dont want to know if they are right beside you.

Sorry but over 50% of drug related ofenderes are charged a 2nd time. I would like to know who I should be watching out for.

Obviously if someone spends the money on getting it taken off their record then they dont plan on doing it again.

Kenton doesn't care what they do to the lives of these people. It isn't about helping these people or turning their lives around; nah Kenton wants to keep them as criminals so the police get more money. The more criminals means the more crime, the more crime means the more need for police funding.
Cycle will continue until we no longer support this stupid Drug War. People harming themselves shouldn't be punished; people who harm OTHERS should be charged to the fullest extent of the law.
And sorry mommies but if your little Billy is 18 and buys drugs its HIS FAULT and no one elses. Stop blaming everyone else and start having your kids take RESPONSIBILITY for themselves. If they can't then I hope they overdose and remove themselves from our society.

Nah you read it right Paul. My wish to have the Drug War stopped is a pipedream at best. To think that the government shouldn't have the right to tell a person what they can and can't do with their body... what an idea ;)

If it doesn't harm another person or another person's property then it shouldn't be against the law IMO.

BUT these parents wish to blame everything EXCEPT their child who is the drug abuser. Not saying what the kid is doing should be against the law (unless he hurts someone or someones property) but these parents make a crusade against everyone and place the blame of their child's habit on everyone else. Its my experience that kids that do drugs do so most of the time because of problems at home. Kentonites need to start looking into the mirror for answers instead of looking towards Kitty Police.

First off, in my opinion, these are not sex offenders who need to be spotted and identified.

I think this website makes our town look horrible, all the while we are trying to court big industry to move in. Ask yourself...if I was a manufacturer moving into Ktown, would I be happy that the drug dealers, heretofore and beyond, are identified? Or is the huge list going to deter me from moving to Ktown? It would scare me.

There may be a couple on that list that have turned their life around but how many on that list have you seen in the paper the past two weeks the have been busted again. I think as a parent I have a right to know if a druggie moved in next door. Do you think when they are selling or shooting up they give a damn about my child's safety.

Many of those on that list are not dealers, they are users. Many of them have never sold anything, let alone to children. Stop insinuating things you don't know. Can't wait for Karma to slap your judgmental ass!

Oh no I sees him talkings to someone! HE MUST BE A DRUGS DEALERS!!!!!! Wow, what a moron are you.

I'd rather have these druggies then the proliferate amount of alcoholics Kenton breeds. Kids learn addiction from home. If your child is addicted to drugs maybe you should look at your own life to see if maybe they learned it from you. I bet if you look at most of those on this list you will easily see a pattern of neglect-able parents while either abuse or addiction in their lives.

Let's take that a step further. What kids see in their home life, as a rule, is often seen as acceptable or tolerable behavior later in life. Just as a kid raised in an alcoholic family will likely become an alcoholic or marry one, the same theory applies to domestic abuse and generally bad behavior.

On the subject of the drug offender list, it really doesn't do much for the community. If I wanted drugs, I could simply look one of them up on this side of the bars. Really, it's nothing more than free marketing.

NO, these low-lives make our town look horrible. They may not be sex offenders, but they can peddle their ILLEGAL drugs and ruin lives just the same.

The website makes our town look horrible. It makes it look like we have more drug dealers than I ever imagined. It also makes it look like we are a town with no forgiveness. Hang em high and hang em forever is what it looks like. It's not a current list, it dates back years, from what I understand. I believe this town has no forgiveness so the website reflects this shitty attitude and trend. It looks bad and I wouldn't bring my Company here, let alone my beloved family.

Our town is in horrible shape. On the positive, any improvement is much easier to notice.

The hatred towards drug users is a conditioned response that started in 1971 with Richard Nixon and is part of a trilogy of industrial complexes, War/Prison/Drugs. Immediately after making drugs illegal, the CIA began trafficking to fund covert actions against other countries. Don't like drugs? Don't hang out with drug users.
Want to stop drugs? Stop waging wars and stop the drug pipelines from places like South America and Afghanistan. No amount of money spent on this problem will make it better. In fact, it's made things worse. This one war is a battle we can't afford to fight, locally.

I guess what I'm trying to say as far as bringing in Manufacturing to the area is....
I imagine that attracting big business is like attracting a mate. If you are "looking" you try to look appealing, you try to hide your warts, you don't go around flaunting your parking tickets, you don't tell them you have 8 kids and one in the oven. You polish that shit up.

This site, in my opinion, is flaunting our warts. I don't mean that these people are warts but their crimes are. These people need to forgive themselves as well. This website does not help them do it.

Kenton will fail to attract any businesses of a significant size to make any real dent into the economic problems, unless you think a minimum wage job is a job worth having. In fact, it's the creation of smaller businesses that will be better for this county. Forget how Kenton looks. Reality is about 5% factual and 95% perceptual. Decide to manufacture something, anything you think will be of value to the community. After that one important act, deciding to do something, you're on your way, if nothing else, towards at least a chance of success.
