This is ridiculously hilarious. So i suppose all of you self righteous finatics never drink a pop while driving with both hands on the stearing wheel either! God forbid you ever kill someone when you are drinking that pop or drop it on the floor board cause that has never happened has it! My older familu tells me back in the day some thought there should be a law against that too! You dangerous irresponsible drivers how dare you jeopardize the safety of others while drinking that supersized drink on your way to work!

Driving is not a right, it is a privilege. One that can be taken away.
The act of getting a state driver's license actually waives your rights to travel unrestricted.

If you have to use your phone in the car, at least have the courtesy to do it while the car is stopped. Texting at a stop sign, at worst, will get you honked at and not potentially dead. I lost a dear friend to a careless young driver who was texting. The girl who caused the wreck died as well. Head on collision at highway speed. I've always wondered what was so important that she had to respond right then and there. I am completely in favor of outlawing cell phone usage in a moving vehicle. If your mind is preoccupied by conversation, then you can't possibly be paying attention to the road. If you're tempted to use your phone while driving, just try to imagine what a 2500+ pound chunk of steel will do to 200 pounds of human flesh and bone when you strike it at even low velocity. A car is heavy machinery and needs to be operated with respect and care.

Thought they were suppose to be cracking down and giving ppl tickets for being on their cell phones talking or texting while driving? I still see so many out on the roads talking on their phone and end up either causing an accident or holding up traffic all because there not paying attention..Bad enough I've seen the cops and sheriff in this town doing it to.This is so dangerous !! I mean seriously a conversation is that important to take at that moment that it cant wait til you get home???So instead ppl rather take their lives and others in their hands.Awesome huh...
why should they stoped them, they the cops due it, and they speed while its is againist the law, who is going to stop them? maybe a citizens arrest may make a differance, make sure you have your vido camera and voce recorder with you, you might get a club up side your head, this is what happens while the law runs a mock, without anyone to check them out.

I also
had my vehicle totalled by someone whom I believe was probably texting.

It is a wonder that no one was killed.

Anybody who isn't willing to stop driving long enough to write a note

deserves a ticket -

Anyone who thinks texting or cell phone usage is any more distracting than passengers in your car, eating fast food, drinking a coffee on the way to work or using and changing the radio station or cd, or putting make up on is an absolute moron. Get real people! Accidents have been caused by those things as well. My mom wrecked her car when an ant crawled up her leg. How about a bee in your car or your dog! Common sense really!

A bee or an ant is not a premeditated happening...

deliberatly texting on a cell phone while driving

60+ mph hour on a highway is!

And yes, the law enforcement people believe texting is more distracting than any of those
behaviors you mentioned, it is more distracting than driving drunk.

If you want to permit this behavor, you have the right to do so - but I hope that universe also permits you to be the one hit and killed by an idiot texting his friends while driving.
