I really enjoyed the interviews on TV news...all the moms that had 2,3 or 4 kids...A taxpayers nightmare!

As a hardworking tax paying single parent of 1 who lives in that neighborhood paying full rent BARB it is not a bad area to live. Sure there are bad seeds in EVERY neighborhood but not everyone is a tax payers nightmare that lives there. A lot of my neighbors are college students paying full rent also.

Barb. I'm not sure what your comments have to do with the fact that someone tried to abduct an 8 year old girl. A monster can follow a school bus in Bay Village just as easily as a bus in Kent. He really doesn't care who pays the taxes.

I like how the lady from Akron is talking about a ghetto. Good job. I live on the other side of Kent, and am terrified that there are people in this great city (full of tax paying citizens) that want to abduct kids. However, I'm also terrified that people as ignorant as Barb are out there too!

An 8 year old child was almost abducted and could have been murdered. So Barb and Hola are focused on the area of town! Great posts you two! I don't know anything about Kent and could care less where this child lived. She survived a predator and that is what is important. So you focus on the area of town while I celebrate her life! You are idiots!

Too many children go missing every day and many are never found or found dead. As bad as this story is, this child escaped and is alive. Now find this pos before he kidnaps another child. What a horror! I am so damn tired of crimes against children!

What does the area have to do with the fact that the girl was almost abducted? And that she was smart enough to be able to get away. That could happen in Zionsville, Indiana too. Think about it.

I attended KSU in the '70's. Do they have an artists rendition of the perp? It would be nice if the general public knew what this person looks like.

First I must state that I'm very relieved to hear that the girl is safe. I do hope this is a wake-up call to the neighborhood parents though! So many more times than not, I've watched children out playing with NO adult supervision! If it were only true, of even half the parents here, that their children were never out if they weren't. Sadly this is not true. I hope this predator didn't choose this neighborhood because he was aware of the complete lack of parental supervision, if so...Wake Up Parents!

Yah, maybe if all Akrons trash like you would stop coming into Kent and lets say...beating to death great guys like Chris Kernich Kent would be an even nicer place than it already is! RIP CK

and My heart goes out to that girls family...be safe and watch out for each other...Kent isn't a no snitch zone like Akron, so hopefully they catch this guy!

I am glad that the girl is safe however, my question is, with an obvious answer if you know that neighborhood, why was a parent not at the stop to pick up the little girl. I am sorry folks but that neighborhood has been called Silver Ghettos as long as I can remember and I have lived in Kent my whole 36 years on this planet. Perhaps some of the buildings have been improved due to private owners now but I am sure that the back row is still an area to be avoided.

Knowing the neighborhood this didn't surprise me. The crime rate is high in there and it is a drug territory. If you drive through, kids are running around all day unsupervised. This is a predators dream. Sadly, it was a matter of time before someone targeted it. Hopefully, this will be a reminder to parents.
