UNDOUBTEDLY NONE OF THESE COPS HANDLED THIS PAST WKENDS THEFT OF A HANDICAP MANS VAN AND TOOLS IN KENOVA. HE RODE HIS WHEELCHAIR TO THE KENOVA PD SAT, AND WAS TREATED LIKE HE WAS THE CRIMINAL...U WOULD THINK THEY WOULD GO AFTER SOME OF THESE THEIVES BEFORE THEY HURT SOMEONE INNOCENT. THEY DID NOT EVEN TAKE A REPORT, THEY FOUND THEIR OWN VAN SETTING AT EXXON 5 DAYS LATER. KENOVA SAYS NO CRIME INVOLVED SINCE HE GAVE THE GUY THE KEYS TO DRIVE IT TO HIS HOME AND UNLOAD IT. OF COURSE THEY GAVE HIM PLENTY OF TIME TO GET RID OF ALL THE TOOLS AND A GUN. SOMETIMES I THINK THEY R SCARED. WELL SO WAS THE VICTIM!!!sTILL ARE SCARED.NO ONE IN KENOVA PD HELPED THEM, THEY REFUSED EVEN TO FILE A REPORT. nice wORK. gOD bLESS THE COPS THAT DO DO THEIR JOBS AS PROTECTORS!!!

To honestly, cops are not superhero's... I think it's funny how people love to put their two cents into everything, but if you know a cop personally you would understand the fact that a cop can't be at every drug dealers house every minute. Things take time. Do you not think they discuss these people who are robbing, cheating, lying and stealing and trying to figure out the best possible way to stop it. Give it a break. How about you do your job, and let our cops do theirs.

No, but they could spend more time cruzin the bad parts of town instead of trying to write a bunch of lame tickets on 60....

There really isnt much positive to say about any of them They make their money harassing the tax payers while the junkies, criminals, and murderers walk your streets killing good people and your childern with their poison. WAKE UP Kenova, you deserve alot better than the KPD offers you, alot better.

What happens at these meetings? If I spoke my mind, would I need to watch my back? Im sure Im not the only one who wonders about that one. How many unsolved murders does Kenova have on their books, and what could be more important than finding out who did it?Is pulling someone going 36 on 60 more important? If it was your family member Im sure you'd be right on that. You explain that one to me and I'll be the 1st to show up at that meeting I've been invited too. The sad truth is you don't have an answer so I won't hold my breath on attending your town meeting or my friends receiving the justice they deserve.

who is the chief of police in kenova right now?

Since: Nov 12

The current Police Chief is Budd Lett, however it's my understanding he is running for the Sheriff of Putnam County in the election Tuesday. If he wins the election Kenova will have to decide upon another Chief. I don't know him but my research indicates the Charleston newspaper has endorsed him so I'm assuming he is a very viable candidate for Sheriff, so we shall see. I wish him luck if that's what he wants to do.

Now the five best Kenova Police Officers of all time?
I worked with Mitch Gibson and Tom Moore. I'd have to agree with some of the previous posters in naming them. They did care about the community deeply. Since I have been gone for the past 24 years it'd be unfair for those having worked there over the last 24 years for me to mention more names as I have not seen their work product. In researching the issues and concerns of Kenova residents I do notice that burglaries, thefts and drug dealing are consistent complaints. In reading news articles I see where Corporal David Reynolds led a two year investigation and made a good narcotics arrest of a reported major drug dealer with a conviction in 2009 so maybe he should get a nod.

Bear had put together a fine group of young police officers before he retired. Corporal Reynolds did seem to be a very productive Detective and such a nice young man. He was always making high profile arrest and even helped my disabled father take his trash out while on duty several years ago. Its a shame that he left the department to become a FBI Agent. Our community could use another go getter like Corporal Reynolds!
