So, does Kennewick still have the speed traps?
I'll be visiting Washington State in a few weeks. In fact, I'll be right up the road at Sunnyside.
The difference in this trip and the last 17 to Washington State, I'll not be dropping any of my Tourist Dollars in Kennewick!
There will be two car loads of us for a total of 6 people!
Wouldn't it be nice if we dropped a few dollars there in Kennewick? Too bad, your speed-trap got me 5 years ago, and I have since told hundreds of people so they can avoid your Speed-trap!

Yes, they are "fee grabbers" there in Kennewick. Stay away from the place if at all possible!

Hey, we made the trip.......... dropped a lot of tourist dollars in Toppenish, Yakama, and Sunnyside. We stayed away from Kennewick!
The murals were awesome in Toppenish!
And, as it turned out, there were 3 cars and 9 people........ a bunch of Tourist dollars that missed Kennewick!
Keep up the good work you Fee Grabbers!

Does anyone know what a trap is? A trap is when you are baited into doing something. I doubt if the police baited anyone. If you are speeding and go by the police, it is not a trap. You just played the game and got caught.

Yep, there are speed traps or you might say known places that motorist are apt to exceed the posted speed limit.......... down hill areas, going into a school zone, where the speed limit drops 10 or more MPH, etc.
There is a national speed trap web site. Kennewick is on the list!

Kennewick / Pasco could be called a speed trap, ambush, money maker, whatever.
Point being - for miles and miles (150 or so) the posted speed is 70MPH - then, very quickly, it jumps down to 60MPH. I took a 3,300 mile trip from Coeur d Alene, ID to Yorba Linda, CA and the only ticket I received was in Pasco - courtesy of the speed trap. Five officers "LYING IN WAIT" is the definition of a speed trap to me!!! I didn't see signs mentioning SPEED ZONE AHEAD or REDUCED SPEED AHEAD like I did in several parts of Oregon and California. The 70mph turns to 60mph in the blink of an eye and the officers are waiting within 1/2 mile of the change.
