The family of college student, Heather Ellis, uses the National Civil Rights Museum as a back drop to tell their story of what they call modern day injustice in the small town of Kennett, MO.

What a waste of time and money with the economy so bad. That Walmart would want this king of attention. Maybe they should give their cashiers training in customer service.

No! This girl should take a long look at herself and realize cutting in line is WRONG! She is too old and should be mature enough to WAIT her turn in line. Instead, she and her cousin must play games while others are waiting. Her funny little prank or stunt escalated into something more because of her actions....don't blame this on someone doing his/her job. This girl had a choice to make and she did just that....now, she is crying foul! Please......she is old enough to know right and wrong. Bad behavior, bad manners, bad attitude!

The economy must not be too bad in Memphis, if they can afford to spend $35 to ride a bus to Kennett and back for a day.

She had more than one choice during the entire incident. She REPEATEDLY CHOSE to be STUBBORN, DIRESPECTFUL, DISCOURTEOUS, DISOBEDIENT, RUDE, etc. She had several chances to leave peacefully and "without incident" and chose not to every single time.

I don't usually get into these talks.But this girl needs to step back and look in the mirror.She would see a racist pulling the race card to excuse her disrespectfull,god syndrome attitude.This girl hit a law officer for pete sake.what was he suppose to do,HUG HER? I certainly would not want a selfish,fowl mouthed,blazing temper,M.D.TAKING CARE OF MY LOVED ONES.To receive respect you must give it too.I'm sorry Ms Ellis you don't seem to be capable of giving any.Ahd just for the record I'm as black as you are and I LOVE kENNETT and find some racism but very little here.

Dunklin County is not as racist as people think. She beat the cops, they didn't beat her. She has a hospital report that says there were no bruises or cuts or anything on her. The two police officers have a hospital report that say one had a split lip and the other a bruised shin. Everybody knows the Pulliams around here and everybody can tell you, The Pulliams think they are better than even the people of their own race. There are the black people, the white people, and then there are the Great Pulliams. They have always liked to bully, intimidate, and push people around to get their way.

I haven't lived in Kennett all my life, I've only lived here for about three years. I think Kennett is a pretty good place to live. I have been observing this case from afar and I think that Kennett in general doesn't really care. If Heather had a great case then it would have already been over with. The incident was on video and there are medical reports. I do not know Heather nor her family, but from what I have heard people say is that this is a very normal reaction for them. I don't think this should have ever been a racist issue. If it had been an old dirty white boy no one would have thought twice about. it. He sure couldn't have pulled the racist. What I find sad in this case is that Kennett is being named as a racist town and I do not think that is true. I am sure there are people who live here who are racist because everyone is different and has been raised different, but as far as that goes I'm sure there are just as many blacks who are raciest as white.
