Heard it on the scanner. They told the ambilance to get the officer before the other car who had people trapped inside.
What happened. How the wreck happen. Who was at fault.

The police car hit the other car in the rear end very hard.
It's my understanding in law that it would have been the officers fault for fallowing to close.

I have watched our local officers texting and driving and talking on their cell phones. I almost got hit by a police car while he was texting and driving. Then he had the audacity to point his finger at me and shake it like I did something wrong when he was to focused on texting while driving to even notice what was going on.

So which officer was in the wreck? What really happened? Is it true it was his fault?

Want opinions!!!

When there is an accident, how is it decided what person is to receive medical treatment first? Should it be by who's injuries is the worst? Should it be decided by social status? Is there any kind of rule about this?

It's kind of hard to avoid a collision when a vehicle pulls out in front of you with no lights on, and no it was never said on the scanner to get the officer first, they had to cut the doors off the other vehicle before anyone could get out anyway! Everyone had minor injuries so let's not turn this into some stupid debate regarding things you wouldn't know anything about unless you were involved in which case if you want to know the names of those involved it is on the Missouri Highway Patrol accident reports. Accidents happen everyday & everyone is so quick to judge or assume they know everything! Just because a vehicle is hit from behind does not always mean they were not the cause of the accident. Just keep that in mind.

Yes it did say to get the officer first because i was listening when it was said as well. And yes it always the person behinds fault if they pulled out in front of the officer then he should have hit the side of the car and not the back. We all knew it would automatically be the other persons fault when a kennett officer i involved. Thats kennett for ya, crooked as hell.

Four people were injured as a result of a two vehicle accident that happened on Highway 412 near the fairgrounds in Kennett on Thursday evening.

According to Trooper T.P. Watson with the Missouri State Highway patrol at approximately 9:33 p.m., Kennett Police Officer Alan Campbell, 52, was driving east on Highway 412 in his police car, when a 1998 Ford Contour driven by 41-year-old Cassadra West of Kennett pulled into the path of the police officer causing the police car to hit the Ford Contour.

Officer Campbell, West, and West's two passengers -- 17-year-old Jessica Payne and 16-year-old Brittney Ellis -- were treated for minor injuries at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center, where they were taken by ambulance.

The police car, a 2011 Chevrolet Impala, and the 1998 Ford Contour were extensively damaged and both vehicles were towed from the scene.

None of the persons involved were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.

Trooper R.L. Vannada assisted Trooper Watson with the accident.

Well it just happens to be a free country honey and I do believe she has the right to be anywhere she wants to be. Just because she speaks her mind you feel you should justify yourself by making accusations towards her. You are no angel. You are just as crooked and corrupt if you can't see how Kennett really is.

That is the same officer I saw texting and driving a while back on independence. His phone records should be checked. I took a picture and started to post it online but I knew if I did I would be harassed by KPD.

Police are suppose to set an example for the community. Why was he not wearing his seatbelt. Was he ticketed like anyone else would have been. They should have all been ticketed.

Does ANYBODY in Kennett wear a seat belt? That's Driving 101 -- a basic and common sense thing to do. Buckle up! If the cop wasn't wearing a seatbelt, he should be fired. If the other driver and passengers weren't wearing a seat belt, there should be a healthy fine for the each of them just to get their attention. Say,$1,000 for anyone not wearing a belt.

God, what a bunch of boneheads live around here!

Haven't seen Alan texting but ran along side trowbridge with me son and he pointed out trowbridge texting and driving from light at sonic to mcdonalds seldom looking up. But they are professionals trained to be above the law they enforce. Common practice for cops around here. They are as bad as teenage girls they are texting to while on duty.

As hard as Campbell hit the other car, he was speeding. Noticed that wasn't in the report, the skid marks on the pavement proves that. He should be fired and the city sued.

No the lesson that should be learned from this is not to ride around after dark if none of the lights on your car work. Also, never pull out in front of someone if you are close enough to see the driver. This is the exact reason people get pulled over for lights being out it could have easily been someone else but because it was a police officer we all expected him to have night vision.
